I think there's a bit of a myth in circulation at the moment - sign with Matchroom and you'll get more fights.

Shouldnt of he realised that when he signed all these fighters though.

Maybe some of them arent the sharpest tools in the box though lol. I guess it's the job of the manager's to deal with all that anyway.

I will say this about Wazza though. He never hesitated to help any of his lads if they were in the doldrums and had issues (genuine) outside boxing.

A quick question from an interested observer!

If a contract is signed with a minimum purse agreement of 30k, for example, would there ever be a scenario where the fighter's purse would be more than the minimum? And, if so, when would that occur and how could the boxer/manager negotiate up with the promoter when a contract has already been agreed? Basically, once a promoter signs a deal with a fighter that covers purse amounts, why would he ever raise the purses above the minimum?

Surely it would be in the fighters' interests to negotiate a proportion of the purse of the fight/income of the event so there is more flexibility if his demand grows?

The answer from my prospective is easy mate. The minimum figure is always set at an amount where you know it's the right price.
That's where a Manager earns his corn.
If the average purse for let's say a LM for a British title fight is £20k - set it at £25k.
Everything is negotiable.

I would also add even the so called hottest prospects fall by the wayside from time to time.
You say if his demand grows - I ask what if it falls ?

Yes and no, personally I'm not a Fight Pass subscriber but I did used to watch Dave's shows online, I imagine there are a few similar. Ultimately it's better financially for him though I guess.

Not just about finances
Chances for his own lads to get a chance on Matchroom shows as well if they impress.
