What is it?
Russians can't be P4P champs?
Non black Americans can't be P4P champs?
Europeans can't be P4P champs?
I'm clutching at straws here, what is it?
to emphasize once more, unless i'm mistaken, horse had hopkins number 9 P4P, and Kovalev has just pissed all over hopkins.
Why bring race into the equation? I can remember when Oscar who is American was P4P, so was Donaire but maybe you consider them black???

Damn, all of Freedom's friends are coming out.

Put Kovalev in the Top 10 when he can handle little Golovkin in a sparring session.
I'm still waiting for the PED scandal to erupt.

Certainly not Kovalev groupies.
They like to pretend bad never happens.
Like close calls against journeyman Boone and a knockdown suffered against feather-fisted Aussies.
Don't care to address those PED fears, eh?

What am I meant to say about PEDs? How am I meant to know who is on drugs or not?
I don't care about sparring stories. Sparring isn't real fighting.

Sparring doesn't count for jack all, it's a sparring session - not a fight, a lot of fighters hold back in sparring, or treat it as a technical workout - furthermore, were you there to witness the sessions - my guess is no.
Sparring rumours are generally just a lot of guff and hot air - much like your post.
It seems you have an axe to grind about Kovalev - why else would you be 'waiting' for the PED scandal to erupt, given that there is zero to suggest he is on any kind of PED?
You're clearly a troll, and not a very bright one.

I wasn't suggesting anything, just trying to figure out what makes some posters tick because I just don't understand how some come to the conclusions they do.
Look at all my previous posts I'm usually the last person to bring race into anything.

Don't you think his resume lacks compared to other top 5 lb4lbers?

Garcia recently lost to Herrera, he doesn't belong in the P4P top 10.
But he didn't lose. P4P doesn't go buy who we "think" won. On the record books, Garcia is still the lineal undisputed undefeated champion at 140.
By that analogy, I guess Jose Luis Castillo was P4P 1 for a few months after he "beat" Floyd the first time.

You aren't the ultimate arbiter of what P4P rankings are based on.
One could also easily dispute your claim that Garcia is an undisputed champion given that he isn't the IBF or WBO champion.

Sergey Kovalev is in ESPN's P4P rankings, and I've read he's going to be in the P4P transnational rankings when they are updated next week.

Did you score it for Garcia?
I had it for Herrera 117-112. It wasn't close, Garcia lost.

Kelly Pavlik was once number one in his division unlike Kovalev and many people had him in their top 10.

Doesn't matter what I think. I think Castillo beat Floyd but since he didn't get the decision, he doesn't get the P4P status neither.

Yeah, but ikorolev probably will insist that Castillo is a valid opponent for Provodnikov in Mother Russia.
He can be a wee bit biased at times.

Absolutely not. I will only insist that a bunch of valid opponents declined to fight Provo in the U.S. or Russia. I also insist that bringing Provo into a discussion about Kovalev doesn't make any sense, because Provo is a pretty limited brawler while Kovalev isn't.
Another thing I insist on is that SeniorPipino hates Russians. It is so obvious that it makes him in Kovalev's terms "a piece of sh1t".

Wow, ikoro, you're becoming quite grouchy. Even a bit truculent. Sucking down too much of that fine Soviet Vodka?
You always accuse me of hating Russians. Just because I didn't root for that Drago guy in that long ago Rocky movie doesn't mean I hate Russians.
No one in their right mind would trust them, but "hate" is a strong word.
Like your idol Kruschev (or has been replaced on your all-time fave list by Korolev? Or Putin?) "We will bury you!"
What's there not to love about Russians?

The problem is that you apply your attitude towards Drago or Khrustchev to all Russians.

I could see having him in the top five. I could also see having him lower.
H'e a hell of a fighter, and he's smarter than I thought, with the way he fought in a controlled fashion against Hopkins. There is a lot of competition and it's highly subjective at that level in PFP terms though, of course.

Kovalev needs some more big scalps and I'm sure he'll get them, I think he'd beat Stevenson and could pretty much clear up the division.
