I might be wrong about this, but as best as I can remember in has went something like this (since losing to JMM)
1. He beat Brandon Rios to win the WBO International Title, and more important to become the WBO Mandatory Chaellenger.
2. Bradley was forced to fight him or be stripped of his Title, and so the fight went ahead and Pacquaio soundly beat him.
3. His upcoming fight against Chris Algieri is his mandatory title defence...
I'm pretty confident that the above information is accurate, so how exactly is Pacman taking an "easy route"?
I think the OP was saying the "easy route" in regards to this: there are more dangerous fighters (though they may not be ranked as high or have belts/titles) and the fighters he has been facing since the JMM loss aren't big punchers who can put him to sleep with one shot like JMM was able to.
I agree to an extent (in regards to bigger punchers who present more danger) but I don't agree to the extent that MP is doing what he is required to do in order to keep his belt/titles intact.
Sure everyone would love to see him face Floyd (not a big puncher but more skilled than the rest) but still others believe that fights with punchers like Thurman, Maidana or a fighter like Porter who would bring it to him are more of a threat than Bradley, Algieri and Rios.
I think MP has done a great job in taking down Bradley a P4P at the time but I really didn't see Rios as much of a challenge, Algieri may not have a big name or big punch but he is highly skilled and is a tall fighter with a longer reach that should or will give Manny problems.
