stevedoc IIRC KT was having major issues with Bill Mordey when beaten by Phillips. Which IMO contributed to his loss to Vince.
C'mon mate all fighters have issues at some stage of their careers, Hatton and Calzaghe were fighting with Frxnk Wxrren but kept winning until they finally flicked him.DA GOOSE wrote:stevedoc IIRC KT was having major issues with Bill Mordey when beaten by Phillips. I personally don't give any weight to these type of "excuses" for a legitimate loss. The same as I never pay attention to fighters excuse when they say they were weight drained etc etc. Fight at a more normal weight then and fight guys more your size etc etc.DA GOOSE wrote:stevedoc IIRC KT was having major issues with Bill Mordey when beaten by Phillips. Danny Greeny would constantly use the pathetic excuse that he was weight drained when mundine owned him at 168 lbs in 2006. Funny that Danny Greeny was a career 168 lb fighter his whole career leading up to and even after the Mundine fight.Pureist wrote:That's funny, at the other forum every second post was about dannyweight yet now you say you don't take boxes excuses regarding weight, can't play both sides of the fence
Cameron was a heavyweight who had NEVER fought below about 216 when Greeny made him hit 200 for a fight.Pureist wrote:I'm talking about when people boiled down to his weight, not the other way around and you made a big deal about it, Cameron for example
My original message was edited because of the promoters name i assume, i have now sorted it out, i wasn't referring to the coke snorting either, i was talking about their promoters like Bill Modey and KT..... Go back and have a lookPureist wrote:Allegedly what? Calzaghe was on coke, he admitted that
There's plenty to choose from for different reasons. The way he bounced back from 2 knocks in the first round against Hutardo was good. The way he manhandled Mitchell in their first fight was good.Francis75 wrote:What does everyone think was Tszyu's best performance as a pro boxer ?
Thoughts ?
Not sure how on earth you would refer to KT as a "bully". Simply because he was so dominant in his division! Rediculous!Kelandbeave wrote:KT was a really good Soviet Union fighter who essentially was a stand over bully for his weight class at 140lbs. Unfortunately his entire fighting life he was not willing to test himself at the higher weight because he was probably scared he would get bullied himself...... I hope GGG doesn't go down the same path. It seems they are smart in this regard because at the end of the day they choose to bully opponents rather then the opposite happen.
But as we have seen, there's always a tough hombre like a Vince Phillips or Buster Douglas out there waiting to seize their opportunity.
Will the middle weight Vince or Buster of this era appear in the next 12-18 months for GGG :??
So you don't think KT wasnt a bully? Someone who stayed at the same weight class therefore always being bigger than their opponents and their major asset was to stop their opponents in brutal fashion, especially early on.Lairdy wrote:Not sure how on earth you would refer to KT as a "bully". Really? Blokes like Mosley and ODLH actually skipped weight divisions, do you honestly think they were too big at that time............ It's called testing yourself.fox wrote:That's ridiculous. If you can make weight comfortably and dominate your division, you shouldn't have to go up. A lot of those fighters were obviously struggling to stay at that weight. No point in fighting out of your weight class if you don't have to. Sure he was beaten comprehensively by Vince Phillips. But he came back and won the title again.
Really?Lairdy wrote:Are you the full quid, kelandbev?... He always fought the best in his divisions! He was a UNIFIED world champ. Just because he felt most comfortable at that weight, does not at all mean he is a bully! Most of the time fighters move up divisions, isn't to "challenge" themselves. It's because there is no-one/no money left to fight in their division. KT was lucky he always had strong opposition to fight, simple.
He was a natural 140. Mosely skipped division. Went from 135 to 147. He could have went to 140 and fought Kostya but it was better $$ to go to 147 and fight Oscar. I don't think Kostya gives a shit if YOU don't think he tested himself. I think made enough $$ and still proved himself at 140.Kelandbeave wrote:Really? Mayweather has jumped up to 154 then back down to 140lbs............... that's a real warrior.
KT ............... 140lbs for 20yrs
