Velez won 3 rounds. Depending on how you see things he could've possibly won a maximum of two more. How anyone can have him winning is completely ridiculous. How?
Yeah 5 rounds was being generous to Velez and giving him a round for showing heart and grit more than anything. Good fighter but certainly not good enough here.

I love Crawford's seamless ability to switch stances, sensational ability to do that, lovely speed too.

Crawford picking up the points Beltran struggling to get close enough, did a bit better in round 5. A couple of times though Crawford has left his chin up in the air and if he keeps doing that it will cost him one day.

Commentators are awful. Crawford is missing with some of what he's throwing but you wouldn't think so how excited they get.

Crawford outboxing Beltran in every round. If I'm being honest I thought Crawford would've stopped Beltran by now. He's very good but I don't think he's P4P top 5 like Buncey thinks.

He's definitely got a 80s vibe. I was thinking Whittaker, but Curry is a better shout.

I would favor him to beat Gradovich and Velez. Gradovich seems fairly sturdy and has very good stamina, but he lacks speed, pop, and is limited skill-wise. Velez isn't much of a boxer in my view, certainly not as good as Selby, yet when he was disciplined and kept to basic boxing--jabbing, working combos off the jab, moving away after punching--he was getting the better of things. He ended up getting drawn into more of a brawl though and although he remained fairly active I think he lost a lot of steam on his shots and became sloppy while Gradovich didn't seem to slow as much. The biggest issue for Selby is not being too complacent against an opponent with a relatively high work rate and good stamina, and not letting himself fall into a rough, mauling type of fight that suits Gradovich.

Cheers gonna look for it shortly watched his fight before though he looked solid but not at Lomachenko or Walters level in fact think Gary Russell is better too he can come back.

Home advantage may be the key but Selby v Gradovich likely be main support to a top rank card next year

Crawford vs Beltran was pretty much the same from 1 to 11,good last round,i had it 120-108,Terence was quality without really shining, he was leagues above Raymundo so i would have liked to have seen him go for it more especially after the way he dealt with Gamboa but he was content to box his ears off, shut out on my card so cant be too harsh,i was very dissapointed in Beltran,i knew he had no chance here but i thought he would have let his hands and take a few chances,he threw something like 150 punches over 12 rounds, pitiful in a world title attempt

Gradovich/Velez was a great wee tear up,Evgeny must be gutted to only come out with the draw, i had him up 117-111,though there were a lot of hard rounds to score and very nip/tuck,his were the more hurtful shots,Jayson probbly could have bridged the gap if he stayed on the outside but whether machismo or stamina,he elected to trade

I asked this in the CS but noone responded ..... did Crawford box the majority of the fight as a southpaw or did he box out of the orthodox stance more?

Damn, the entire fight? He normally tends to switch a lot.

What time in the ring, anyone?
bout 4-45-5am if gradovich can make short work of his guy next.

Crawford is very good,i saw him up in Glasgow giving Ricky Burns a boxing lesson.Check his fight with Gamboa out recently, one of the best fights of 2014.
thanks pal :TU:

i've just watched the show, bloody hell I'm glad I never stayed up! Yes, Crawford has a lovely smooth style the guy must be operating in fractions of seconds only as Beltran couldn't put sustained punches on him - and Beltran was a lot fresher and better looking than I realised. I sensed that he was an "opponent" against Ricky Burns who essentially over-performed - but he looked sharp in there, just Crawford was better.

Ray Beltran's left eye was very puffed up at the end of the fight. Crawford is a real technician by the looks of it - even though he never really seemed to throw that many hard shots.

Maybe boxed 2 minutes of the fight orthodox,he was very effective though,no need to change really although i would have loved to seen him put the pedal to the metal :bag:

Just watched both fights.

Have to say Crawford gets better everytime I see him. Really do think he will be one of the stars in this era I think he takes Danny Garcia now based on the Herrera fight.

As for Gradovich more so than I thought before home advantage will be diffrence for Selbys chances. Whilst Gradovich isn't as good as Walters or Lomachenko he is definately miles better than anyone Selby has faced and beaten much better fighters than Selby.

Gradovich seems a good all round fighter and has an excellent engine on him. The Selby fight will be a very good one.

Someone mentioned curry, i think. To throw another name in there i think some of Crawford's ring skills are of a mccallum type technician. Without, at the moment, having the threat to end things early like the above two. Crawford's got that calmness and patience, ability to seem poised and unruffled.

i think after fmj he's the premier pure boxer in the game today. I think he is more skilled than Ward, for example.

i think he will end up beating a lot of half-decent guys and making them look pretty ordinary, without breaking sweat. I hope his matchmaking is aggressive or there could be a Ward-esque air of near-boredom about hhhis fights.

Raul Saucedo looked very good at Welter last night, in the opening fight from the American broadcast. He's one to watch.
