If Kell has to despatch him due to the IBF pushing him, then fair enough. But as a punter, it's a fight that holds no excitement for me.

Reminds me of the era when Ben Rabah and Arturo Morua were fighting to get Ricky Hatton, a pair of absolute IBF nobodies, in the end Hatton vacated when Rabah was made mandatory and he moved up and fought Collazo.

Then when Ricky won the IBF for a second time off Urango (who beat Rabah for the vacant belt) , Rabah then surfaced again for another eliminator in his very next fight, but Lovemore N'dou won and was made Hatton's mandatory - so he vacated it again to fight Jose Luis Castillo.

The IBF belt works well if you have a decent division thats populated with enough capable people - but in some divisions , the same 2 or 3 people constantly fight for it again and again.

At welter we have a lot of primadonnas like mayweather, pacquiao etc that never seem to follow the sanctioning bodies rules, as they are too big a name. That's what swept in the diamond belts and "super" champion belts - so the bodies could still get their cut from the big fights, whilst taking their slice of the regular scene with their "regular" world title.

Kudos to some boxers, they drop belts when a sh*t fight emerges - but there are promoters out there who stand behind the ruling as justification to sell a one-sided poor fight to the public.

Haymon did it regulary in his HBO days, such as the terrible Dawson vs Tarver 1 & 2 for millions in purses, yet attended by an audience of 800 and 1,200 people respectively and watched by nobody.

I'm not suggesting Kell vacates a belt that he has only just won, as that's his pride and joy right now - but ultimately, if the IBF send him one bum after another, it might well be that he has to.

Jo Jo Dan, Kevin Bizier from Canada, Luis Abregu from Argentina, Frederick Lawson from Ghana, Yoshihiro Kamegai from Japan - Top 10 features 5 nobodies. The rest aren't much better with Guerrero probably being the best, and he has faded a lot.

Kell has had plenty of fights with the likes of the Robles's, Saldivia's, Galarza's already and his fans want to see him in his prime, fighting the best welters out there. The Thurman's, the Khans, the Bradley's and the proper opponents. That is Kell's level and he can be a huge name with the right fights.

As a big fan of Kell's, I just hope he doesn't have run of IBF mediocrity at the Sheffield arena. He has proved a few times that he needs to have danger fights to be on his game, I think he is maybe one of those guys that will come unstuck against someone he was supposed to wipe the floor with.
Enjoyed reading your post, very well written

Considering that Kell as not had a defence yet and that his promoter wants his next fight to be v Khan at Wembley, I think you're going a little over the top.

Anyway, back on topic - why does Lee Froch wear sunglasses indoors?

GOmez has a slight agenda here... Slag off the IBF for making you face your mandatory just before your pal is going to kick up a fuss about facing his!
