I am dealing with Mikes tickets and he has took in more than £12,000 himself! the tickets are £40, £60 and £90 which in my opinion is pretty dear for a show in the Caird hall and has put a few people off. And Jamie you know more than us then because Mike asked Collin and Tommy and they both says it wasnt for a belt!

Ask mike how many rounds he thinks he's doing, we have been told it's a 10 rounder which will be a belt, it if was a good card Id understand the prices but on paper it isn't looking to good, jamie wilson has had no promotion at all in Dundee which is a shame as he's in a bare
Division and in truth can work into a british title fight within 12 months, whole point was to try expand the show, people want to come but when there is no opponent it's hard, they don't know boxing but Internet the way it is they searc for names, dead cert fans are easy to sell but when it comes to casuals it's been non existent, guess we just need to get through the weekend and hope that everyone comes through it but if anything else happens here tje. Promotors need to do some work at promoting,

yes he is fighting ten rounds but he was told it wasnt for a belt. Mike asked for Craig Kelly but was told he already had a fight near this time. To me people that dont know much about boxing I dont think its the opponents that puts them off its the circumstances, eg cup final next day or price of ticket. Not whether there fighting a guy with 4 fights or 60.

I can't imagine he's doing 10 rounds and won't be for a belt, maybe but will be some form of a belt, people research restaurants when going put for a meal, 100% look up opponents trust me Iv done all the dundee shows and Iv answered to fans, friends and family don't care but when it comes to casuals they think it's poor and expect big fights that arnt sometimes realistic,as uv said the promotion has not been good enough, Iv better things to be doing than constantly banging the drum, craig is fighting matty Im aberdeen but even a pagan rematch or ronnie in a meaningful fight if they want to build mikey, everyone fighting journeymen just isn't value for money, may well find someone loses buy end of day on paper the card just doesn't tepresent value for money,

Just read your comment again. I totally disagree with the fact your saying Ronnie has been taken in to boost Mikes ticket sales!! Its a dundee show would it not make sense to have dundee fighters on it ??

Chloe for me it wasn't worth ronnie fighting on, I said that to him at the time, few reasons , ronnie is 30 and isn't gonna be fighting for titles in Dundee, proven to the fact Tommy lost out on a terrible purse bid to troy james team down South, aberdeen shows is a month later, where Davie mcAllister I believe would back him In a purse bid and get decent fights for him, i said this at time but ronnie didn't really have a choice as Tommy took that out his hands, boxing is a real mixed up game, where the fighters are used, for me mikey should be built properly and deserves to fight in his hometown but for me ronnie is being used to allow this, my opinion of course and I would have went to show to
Support mikey anyways if ronnie wasn't fighting but in boxing you look after yourself and for
Me there is little to gain for ronnie, nothig personnel at all, I'm not his manager as obvious but for me ronnie should have focussed on Next months show and used his ticket sales on a show that he would be rewarded and built on,

mike has moved back down to welterweight, he went up a weight to fight rhys pagan. Maybe heel fight him again in the future but he made it quite clear he was moving back to the weight hes always fought at for the forseeable future. Anyway 2 days to go, no point sitting on here talkin about things we cant change. I still expect it will be a brilliant night for the fans and the fighters. :)

Lets all get together and make sure that after Saturday there is boxing again in Dundee, I'm sure that if it is a success no matter who has sold teh most tickets that Saltire will be back and then they will have more of an idea on the kind of budget they would have for future shows. If it makes money then they could probably push for bigger fights with more wages.

David mcallisters comments are spot on at this stage in the week. For what it's worth if I was Towells manager I would take ANY fight against ANY opponent anywhere in the UK at welterweight. It would not be long before the word got out that he was one to be watched. He's the type of boxer people want to see , he doesn't need to be fighting all the time in Dundee.
Honestly, he is the most exciting prospect in Scotland for at least 15 years and I'm including Harrison and Arthur. Others I've spoken to believe he' s not the finished article and can be picked off. They might be right, but let's see.

I agree that he is very exciting and people will love to watch him fight but I'm sure his coach Jamie Coyle would like to see him stepped up gradually and getting more time to perfect his style and have him box against different styles. I do believe that with his style he would need pushed on a bit quicker than others boxers his age just because he will likely be in lots of wars!!

Chloe if Mike has sold over £12,000 of tickets I would be even more angry. That's very good ticket sales btw well done but not too shocked when your jumping on people on Ronnie's even go get ticket tut tut... Boxing is ruthless and you seem to have the right idea sell tickets at any cost. That should stand Mike in good stead for future shows. I think it's crazy how promoters lack the ability to ask people in the local area what works best. Saltire seem far better run that what Sweeney Promotions yet By the sounds of it we managed to sell more tickets for 2 shows in Dundee before. Dundee folk are tight and if it doesn't seem value for money they will just not go. Plus you need to really push the sales through all media outlets. You also have 2 fighters in Dundee 1 at British Title level and 1 just getting built up for the future. You put the one being built up as a main event with a guy with 40 loses. It's common sense could of put Ronnie in with anyone he proven he can mix it at that level a bit of investment would of got a bigger return. Mikey could then of been stepped up like people have said Craig Kelly, Rhys Pagan or even Matty Mcallister in honesty they are all managed in the same circle of managers so could of been made no matter how many shows were on in March. Even taking that away and looking at Scottish Title fights would of got better Scottish opponents for the same money and they would sell tickets. I'm very disappointed as a fan of boxing and especially wanting all the Dundee lads to do well. It's just my opinions I am actually quite happy with Ronnie's opponent but it high risk for no reward really. Let's hope that all home fighters get good victories and the shows a success. Maybe the promotion will learn and do things differently next time

From Ronnie's event page a boy asked for tickets. From what I hear you have sold him 4 £90 tickets although it was an event that I put up for Ronnie's ticket sales. It's not taking from Ronnie's sales as you got in there first. Not the way we would do it though. Like I said boxing is ruthless you have the right idea.

Who would that have been? I can honestly say, and its up to you if you believe it, That never once have we looked on the event and seen anyone asking for tickets and thought we better go and get to them first. Ronnie invited me to the event on facebook. If this is how you felt then you should have blocked me from it!! its actually quite laughable that you would even assume we would do that! I would have removed myself from it if i thought that was the idea it gave you!! Anyway, In response to the rest of the stuff you have said It is unfortunutly not in michaels hands who he fights which is obviously the same case with Ronnie. If you want me to be truthful i think the whole things an actual joke. Instead of the sly comments being passed about all 3 dundee boxers should have got together and tried to make the show a sell out TOGETHER, instead of making it a competition as thats the way i feel your making it out to be. I also heard Ronnie was saying he wouldnt be fighting on the show if He wasnt top of the bill. But hey could just be people spreading rumours.

Irrelevant anyways the show is happening, from my point of View I think there are a few party's that have handled the situation very poorly, one being very close to ronnie and forced him into a situation where he's fighting on a show that's gonna do nothing for him, Davie from your promotion point I think it's very negative also as pushing his sales in aberdeen arnt gonna be ideal due to the closeness of the shows . I believe that he should have only took aberdeen on, said at the time, never let someone build something off the back of you, we arnt that affected by ticket sales as we have pushed regulars and just hit our aim for the sales, it's not been hit hard due to the lack of opponent And me knowing from the start what was happening, as ic said opens your eyes up really, ronnie is kind of person who helps most and keeps quiet but he should say if it's wrong, this isn't nothing to do with mikey or his team,
Regarding topping the show for none of the fights are headliners, but if I'm
Ronnie Im not happy fighting on an undercard of a guy who say 5 fights and fghting someone with 40 losses. Dundee is fulll of rumours and we all know that,

I agree it's a joke very very hard to sell as 3 rather than one as promoters look on individual ticket sales. It's the wrong way to do it and at the last Caird Hall Show I tried to help all Dundee Fighters even helping the away fighters as was in our best interest. Not away to name the person as I look on it as ticket sales for a Dundee show. As for headlining the show if I was Ronnie I would refuse to fight if I wasn't headlining. I think it's crazy when you have a guy who has just fought a British Title Eliminator against Troy James losing a split decision away from home to fighting one of the biggest prospects we have in Craig Evans. Also fought Ryan Walsh and Maxi Hughes top rated prospects all are at British Title level. Also turning pro being World, European, British Amateur and Pro Champion. Helps out all the local boxers whether pro or amateur. If Mikey was in his shoes would he fight on the undercard he deserves the respect of being the headline fighter here I don't think many will disagree with that. You are spot on none of this is Mikeys fault. We have lots of mutual friends who will be going to support all 3 local lads.

Ronnie has been the undercard of michael before no problems, is it because this is in Dundee? I dont know. But whatever if yous have a problem instead of writing it on here why dont yous take it up with the promotors. It was there decision not ours.

messaged them to ask if they still wanted them but they had already got from Ronnie, but thats not a problem.

No no undercard to a fight that's defent yes, if it was pagan, kelly mcAllister etc then not a problem, titles fights come first, but when it's a nothing fight which in truth is ripping people off then no, track back on boxrec after the caird ball show last time, exact same was said, I can't stand people being ripped off and can't stand that I'm part of it, the promotors in scotland need a shake, don't do crap I. Half measures and rip the fans off, atleast put one decent fight on, I don't talk crap to people, Iv said same on many of shows, people may think this is relevant to ronnie or whatever but before mikey turned pro exact same, hinders the boxers also! They fight people who arnt at there
Level, their promotors don't invest at purse bids they go to England and have to go as underdogs and ko for a win! I hope I'm proved wrong regarding the show and hope it's a success but not been ideal In preparation as Chloe has said also,

I dont think thats very fair. Nobodys being ripped off, Nobodys forced to buy tickets? if there not happy with it dont go its as simple as that!! I feel there has been a proper damper put on the show now. Its more of a reason people wouldnt go readin all this crap, not because of opponents, how do you expect to sell tickets if u have a shit attitude on it yourself. Just totally negativity. Everyone should be pulling together to sell as much tickets as possible n make it a great night not bringing down the other boxers. Like i said before nothing anyone says on here/facebook etc is going to change anything so may aswell leave it at that!

And majority of people are going to SUPPORT there local boxers, no matter who there fighting. So dont think theyd feel they were bring ripped off either. As long as its a good show.
