I agree with your statement about Calzaghe. I obviously have different criteria for what is world class.

I don't dislike Johnson as a person or even as a boxer. I was just not overly convinced by what I saw in the two fights against Clinton Woods.

Johnson has turned down around £300,000 because he wants to fight former champion Roy Jones Junior.

Warren said: “It’s all in the hands of my legal team.”

I don't know who Johnson thinks he is. He can't just mess people about like that, giving someone a title shot, then spitting his dummy out because Calzaghe got injured. (Calzaghe might not be injured, but hey, he also might be)

It wasn't Johnson who pulled out of a genuine world title fight at seven days' notice. That dropped everyone in the shit. Then the second date was mooted for Calzaghe's own backyard in Cardiff (from Manchester). The champion quite rightly wanted more money for fighting Calzaghe there.
At the end of the day, Johnson had whipped himself into fantastic shape while Calzaghe was out shagging a 21-year-old. He's decided not to risk all that hard work again on someone as unreliable as Calzaghe.

Yes, I believe Harmon has still got a bright future at 175. He's got bags of natural ability.

Must get around to watching the second half of the Telesco fight some time.

In the hands of his legal team, what, Stephen fornicating Heath, come on the blokes an in house lawyer. If he was a top guy he'd be with a City firm, but he's not, he's in house at Sports Network.

Warren failed to deliver the fight on the agreed date because his boy cried off with a back injury, which are difficult to prove, medically.

Johnson has not agreed to a rescheduled bout, nor is he obliged to.

Calzghe is world class but he is absolutley no way great or the best at his division and never was!

Fightnews are reporting a date of September the 25th for Johnson vs Jones Jnr - Although knowing Roy Jones, there are still some issues that need to be clarified (i.e. will Jones mind not entering the ring last). However, its certainly not looking good for the July date in Cardiff for Calzaghe vs Johnson.

The entry order was an issue in the first Jones/Tarver fight because Jones had *vacated* his light-heavy titles and won a title at heavyweight, i.e. he argued that Tarver wasn't the "real" light-heavy champ. Eventually though, he relented and Tarver was introduced as the light-heavy champ, which he was. In this case there should be no "who's the real champ" issue - Jones lost fair and square to Tarver in his last fight, and Johnson is the legitimate IBF beltholder. It's possible there will be some issues over money, but somehow I don't foresee any kind of Jones/Tarver-style wrangling. Johnson has had a long and fine career (multiple hometown robbery losses notwithstanding), and these two seem to respect and have no animosity toward each other. As Jim McDonnell pointed out, the incentive for Jones is that the IBF belt would give him a better bargaining position for a potential rubber match with Tarver, and Johnson will likely earn far more than he would've vs. Calzaghe. Sounds like a win/win to me.
