Good stoppage, I thought Rose was walking straight home when he got out of the ring and took off haha!

Had it been the other way around there would be outrage at how terrible our officiating is.
I'm not sure there would, there definately wouldn't of followed Jones out of the ring, showed how gutted he was and gave him air time to slate the ref. Jim Watt and Co would definately not be whinging as much to. The coverage is so biased.

For what's its worth I don't think the outcome would of been any different and it would of only lasted another 5-10 seconds anyway as Rose was gone!

That is just not accurate. Carson was KOing everyone at 147 including guys that didnt usually get KOed. He stopped Ricardo Williams and Germaine Sanders. In fact every single win at 147 was by KO. Said Ouali...Allen Conyers and he KOed Tyrone Brunson at 154.

You do have a point Mr Dobbs to be honest, but those guys are not very good. But he does have a lot of kos at 147, so I stand corrected even if they are against lower levely guys

Several of those guys are better than Brian Rose.

I do think of Carson more of a volume puncher that eventually stops people late, was what I was really meaning. The fact that Rose was stopped in round 1 doesn't bode well. Carson is a good fighter with a lot of heart, surely I wasn't taking anything away from him

I would have to disagree with that if I'm being honest

I see what you mean now. Yes on the Sky coverage there may not have been outrage, but on here there definitely would have (in my opinion) been outrage at a premature stoppage.

I think Said Ouali and Ricardo Williams (Olympic Silver Medlaist) both are better. I think Brunson would be very similar in ability to Rose. Rose is a good mid-level guy. The stoppage was very fast, but that doesnt mean Carson wouldnt have won anyway.

Look at the guys Germain Sanders went the distance with prior to being stopped by Jones

I see, very interesting for sure....I'm happy Carson won for sure. He deserves it. Bigger payday on the horizon I hope for him

If you notice in this fight the initial right hand landed above the ear, that spot often will knock off a fighters equilibrium and it takes them a bit to regain their balance and legs.

IJL has no business in British boxing after tonight. Poor stoppage against Rose, gave him no chance at all to recover, but his judging in the 1st Prizefighter bout was even worse imo. Eff this guy.

Jones looks in great shape for this, I think he will take Rose out and at 6/1 for Jones to get the KO...I will be having some of that! :OhYes:
Nice job. Of course I didn't fricken put money down. I didn't understand these odds at all.

Hilarious to hear Watt and Halling bitching about a British stoppage when it happens to the Brit...
Was equally hilarious reading your bitching about Ormond getting DQ'd also to be fair.

I'm not against the DQ, he DID deserve to be DQ'd and he WAS stupid. HOWEVER the referee not stamping out the holding early on WAS an issue and was frustrating to watch. Strangely Flanagan looked 10 times better when he was boxing and moving and in fact had the referee cut out the holding I suspect Flanagan would have really shined and looked sensational as a result. In many ways the holding made everyone look that bit worse than they should have.

Yeah I agree. What you see is what you get with Ormond. He was always going to try and turn it into a battle and Flanagan kept fairly cool and stuck to the task. I would def like to see a rematch somewhere down the line. Good action.

my initial reaction was it was 2 punches too early, clearly I am in the minority
but I thought It wasn't an outrageous stoppage by any means.

Carson Jones has only gone and earnt himself a whole new payday in the UK with that win i suspect!!!

Well done that man.... he seems thoroughly likeable and a hell of a scrapper.

Feel for Rose, No he's not the best out there but he's again a very likeable guy with some abillity, it seems as though he got caught cold by a very well placed shot. I would like to see him rebuild at domestic level if the fights can be made. Alternatively for a bit of quick cash look at stepping up to 160 for an all matchroom showdown to build RYder up.
