I mean eff me I attended a MotoGP race in Italy about 10 years ago and seeing the sheer hatred, abuse and fights between the rival Rossi and Biaggi fans made the Old Firm derby seem like a effing picnic. Most sports have fanatics and when booze and machismo are thrown into the mix you've got a potential for nasty behaviour, palming it off on football fans is just an attempt to hide the fact that boxing and other sports have hooligan problems of their own.
On top of my other post....Frankie Gavin has a notorious group of 'fans' that I had the 'pleasure' of meeting at a game with Sheff Utd...the Zulu's, Birminghams mob.
Its like they have taken him under their wing and adopted him as their boxing 'club' to follow. its the same with Josh warrington sadly
I've just spoken to a guy who was in Germany and he said it was 95% hooligans who were approaching people and asking them where they were from and then starting trouble! He said it was embarrassing.

I've been to a few of Frankie's fights, and whilst he does have some fans of this type, there are not too many of them, maybe 50, a minority even just amongst Gavin fans. Josh's are off the scale!

Italian motorsport fans fighting? that sounds amazing. I'm picturing lots of kangaroo-type punching (head way back), plus hairpulling, some flying football-type kicks.

I've been to a fair few of Frankies fights and there are less of them there than people make out. Mostly just divs gicving the old 'Zulu' chant but to be fair never been much bother. Sure I saw him mouth to a few in the crowd after the Bundu fight 'no trouble' so fairplay to him.
Had to laugh few weeks after the Bundu fight Wolves (my team) played Blues. Just before kick off I came across a few mouthy Brummies kicking a car etc, when asked them if they fancied a walk down the road away from the police they replied with the usual 'lets draw attention to ourself' mouthing off. But it bugged me I recognised the main mouth peice from somewhere. Was only during the game I realised he'd been sitting next to me at the Bundu fight.
Think there might be a fair few more of these types now hes fighting in the arena. Me being from Wolves and with a Black Country accent could well get some stick. The ironic thing is I'll be there to support Frankie and probably will have more times than them!

It was actually quite scary, before then I always thought Italian blokes were a bunch of effeminate Gucci wearing poofters.
Get it at the Spanish races too, another load who I thought were soft as shite.
No. The highlights were somebody accidentally setting himself on fire with a flare and a guy riding a vespa through a crowd of nutters using a flagpole as a lance like a jousting knight.

I'd just be glad they didn't drive it off the top tier of the stadium like the inter fans!
