Why does it come as a shock that Miguel would say this now?
He preps at the Wildcard with the same trainer, what would you expect him to say?

Him and Pacquiao have the same trainer, not the same mother. Why would Cotto's choice of coach affect his pick? Somehow i can't imagine Freddy Roach resigning from his role of coach to the 3rd biggest player in the sport because he told the media he believed the fight was a pick 'em or he thought Floyd had the edge.
The point of the thread is to either post fighter/trainer/pundit picks, or to discuss them, not to post while conspiracy theories of bias to everyone and anyone who gives a pick.

Well, same trainer is a possible explanation of why Cotto now thinks Pac will win when, prior to him being with Roach, that may not be what he indicated.
In the process of looking for the earlier quote now, if I can find it...

Here's another explanation... that's what he thinks.
Crazy, huh?

After watching the interview, he talks not in specifics, but more generalizations. He is rooting for Manny. He says Manny moves from here to there faster. He thinks Floyd wins by the easiest way to win.
He wouldn't directly answer most of the questions. He knows he would lose again to either Floyd or Manny again, but will take the big paycheck by rematching either one again.
In other words, kind of a waste of time for an interview, imo.

All I know is that Cotto allegedly said that Floyd hits harder than Pac (which I can find) but I also recall him saying shortly after he fought Floyd that Floyd is better (but that quote I cannot find).

Imo, what Cotto said is pretty pointless, and insignificant. I'm sure Roach told him to say if he is interviewed to help our guy out. In the end it doesn't matter what anyone says. They will settle it in the ring.

Then why do you keep reiterating that point in this thread? The point of the thread is track some pundit/fighter/coach picks as part of theb uild up fun, not to get your panties in a bunch whenever someone picks Pacquiao.

Maybe you need to watch the interview again. The most telling thing he said is that he is
pulling for Manny. Did you sense that he was totally confident that Manny would win?
What I said about it not really mattering what anyone says? Guess what, it doesn't. You, me, or anyone. Its' fun to predict the outcome, talk smack, etc, but it will be settled in the ring. No ones' predictions will matter come fight night. Only the ones that bet against Floyd. They will be the losers on the night, as they always have been. Imo, of course.

Its all insignificant really, but this thread is for boxer/trainer/pundit predictions. You don't have to like it!! it is what it is...
what is funny, is that you have made up in your head that roach told cotto what to say

Is it sane or crazy to take something at face value when you know there are things in the past that directly contradict it?

So this is an interview, in which Cotto claims Mayweather hits harder than Pacquiao, but it's
A. Convienently in Spanish
& B. Took place before Cotto even fought Floyd

If Morales was smart and did a little more
running (aka boxing) maybe he wouldn't have been washed up so early in his career.
Maybe they should just tie their feet together, and let them stand still and trade shots to the head? That will show some talent and skill for sure. Especially heart.
Just read a bit of shocking news (that many here predicted by the way lol) Freddie Roach now says that Manny will knock Floyd out. (After originally saying it is the toughest fight of Manny's life)

Roach flip flops as much as Arum does, first I heard him and Manny say "this is or will be their easiest fight" and then I heard Roach say "this is the fight of his life and Mayweather is really great and has been doing this since he was 5 and will be their most difficult fight".
I can't stand Roach but because he has the condition he has many people sympathize with this piece of sh*t and allow him to talk ish but they give him a pass when you say something about that little c@cksucker as though you are attacking his condition rather than him.
Morales is in no position to talk ish about anything, he got knocked the f*ck out badly by Garcia and he should just stay away from having a comment until he has grown the nuts to get his revenge.
As far as "BOXING" is concerned, it is called that when Manny runs from Rios but if Mayweather does it then that's when it is called running.

de la hoya says pac is hungrier and it's his time but also says mayweather has skill

most of these guys sound like they're hedging. i'm hearing names mentioned
in this thread claiming they are picking one or the other but not really seeing
outright picks, just talk about the different ways it could go down.
