A real bloody shame...it could and should have been very different.

Audley couldn't stop Mark Krence and Dominic Negus. How the hell was he going to stop David Haye?

Haye was a young lt heavy amateur at the time. His chin vastly improved since those days. He took decent shots off Wlad without being staggered.
Anyway, to knock someone out you actually have to hit them! Lol

I wish Audley all the best with his future endeavors. And i hope that any damage he's sustained is reversible. Audley always struck me a a nice guy to talk to, hope that he find happiness outside of the ring.

Problem with Audley was his lack of humility.
Whilst winning the Gold medal is a great achievement... he thought he would breeze the professional game, and made ludicrous claims that he would win the British HW title in 5 fights, and was destined to be the undisputed HW champion.
He set himself up for a big big fall.... given the way it turned out for him.
His biggest achievement outside the Gold medal was finishing runner up on Big Brother.... Danny Williams was right with is statement in 200.
Audley was a 'Celebrity boxer'

Interesting that he made it clear he was only bankrupt in the UK. I guess he is just writing off a few investments in this country and he will go on as he is in the States. I'm sure we'll see him in the jungle or some other reality tv thing again. People seem to like him on those things.
He has influenced the amatuer game in this country and made it better, an arguement could also be made for him damaging the pro game for a good decade too.
To me he seems like a decent enough guy and like everyone else, i wish them all the best. I've read a bit about the concussion injuries he's mentioned, especially NFL players and if that's what he is referring to (CTE), then it doesn't sound reversable at this moment in time as it is a degenerative condition. What a load of shite. Middleton was 224 lbs and a former US Marine. An extremely fit bloke.
Did that make him qualified to fight Audley? No. He didn't really have the talent to compete on that level. But that description is a ridiculous disservice.
