Depends which Froch turned up on the night.

The Froch that smashed Lucian Bute would likely give GGG plenty to think about.

I agree, Froch gets made out to be like he is some kind of sitting duck there to be decapitated. He would ask questions of Golovkin that he hasn't even thought of yet.

It won't happen tho unless they can guarantee Froch at least what he earned for walloping Groves. And that is way off at the moment.

It's a great fight to be honest. It all depends on if GGG carries his power up. If he does, Froch is getting stopped and hurt badly - you can't keep blocking punches with your face. If he doesn't, Froch could badly expose GGG.

Great fight but does it make sense for either man? I'm not sure it does.

That was because ikorolev claimed Golovkin would sell fine in England, he would for a Froch fight, but that would be Froch selling the tickets not him, he was making out like Golovkin could fill an arena here against anyone. I don't think they sold out for the Mack fight, if they did then they struggled to shift the tickets, the first time a Froch fight sold out here was Kessler as far as I can remember.

Don't lie. Read my posts and you will see that I was saying that he would sell specifically against Froch.

Let's not forget that Golovkin dealt with bigger opponents in amateurs like Bute or Dirrell just fine. He stopped Bute wearing headgear.

I was Froch's biggest fan a year ago. Went and watched the 2nd fight with Groves and couldn't sing his praises high enough. I am not quite sure what has happened to him. The warrior, the guy that would take on a HW if you really pushed him, now he seems way too focused on life after boxing. The reality is that he doesn't have the desire now, he has had a load of time off, and he doesn't fancy it. It would be better to step away now, I am not interested in seeing an easy final fight.

The 'Go out on your shield' attitude doesn't seem to be there. If he fought and beat Golovkin then it may potentially seal his place in the top 3 fighters the UK has ever produced.

He probably just earned enough to not want risking brain damage anymore. Getting older and having kids would also do it to you. He deserved a honorable retirement, and that is what he should do instead of risking to spoil his image.

He is approaching 38 years of age, he has had a long, hard fantastic career, he is quite entitled to some time off and to pick his next fight on his own terms.

Don't get me wrong, Froch has had a great career, but where he has picked up fans over the years is by fighting anyone out there, batting to the final bell, and dedicating himself wholeheartedly to the craft. His talks about acting etc is not the focused approach that I would expect from him. I do hope we see him push himself in the final fight, and he can go out in style.

If you demand top dollar and claim to be a top fighter, you are still required to fight the best opponent available. This is the standard everyone holds Floyd to and I never thought it was unfair. However, Froch is allowed a gimme because he fights a harder schedule than Floyd?

I fully appreciate your point, but a career should be decided upon all decisions made, not one. If a fighter like Froch wishes to cash out, fuck it. For me he has earned it. There has to be some logical end.

He can take a gimme but he wants top dollar to do so......uh no hes a prize fighter. This like Floyd deciding hey ive earned my stripes i want a big money fight in vegas and shoots down offers from top guys and picks a fat lazy bastard.

Froch has been in multiple wars for the entertainment of the fans and has more miles on the clock than Floyd. Floyd also has more demand from fans to fight Pac because he is much higher profile than Carl. Apples and oranges.

I want to see Froch fight GGG as much as the next guy, but you can't begrudge him a gimme at all, if that's even what is going to happen. And he wants big bucks for it because he can command it now. Maybe not in Vegas, but definitely in the UK.

Boxing is not like other sports, fighters take serious risks with their healthy every time they fight, Froch is allowed to do whatever he wants, if people don't want to watch the fight, they don't have to, it's not a league game, with given fixtures, or a tournament where everyone has to compete against the other teams or individuals in the tournament - Froch can choose his opponent, and people can either buy a ticket or ppv, or not, simple as that. It's probably the last fight of Froch's career, and he can go out any way he likes.
