Couple of morons. Russia sounds like a place with a lot of nasty, racist thickos. Been told that and I've been watching that Reggie Yates programme on the bbc.
Was waiting for this, never ceases to amaze me

Complaining about racism

Yet no problem stereotyping and labeling an entire country

If the previous case of Kovalev racist comments was related to calling African Americans "tanned" people in Russian, then it could be him just trying to use a different term than is still widely used in Russia and not considered derogatory. A Russian translation of "negro" is "negr" which is used in Russia but of course can't be pronounced in the U.S.

Face it, you guys just look to give Kovalev a pass because he has white skin, you still hold sh*t against Floyd from years ago that he has never said again but yet you come here to defend Sergey using photos to racially stereotype a black man.

When Hopkins made his "white boy" comment you guys never forgave him for it and still hold him to it today by calling him a racist but again, here you are giving Kovalev an entire thread and book of excuses.

Look at the Poll results here, it shows even in the face of overwhelming evidence that is current recently regarding the Kovalev racist picture that you guys are being far more forgiving of him than you are of Floyd for his racist rants vs Manny and Hopkins' white boy comment.

I don't need to go far to prove that people are quick to forgive people with white skin for a racist comment, gesture or slur when it is proven by the Poll results here. Like I said, people have forgiven Rothliesberger for rape of 2 girls and it is never even mentioned whenever they interview him but whenever they speak of Vick they immediately bring up the dog incident.

Racism is still live and in effect even in this forum and it's members, I'm just pointing out the obvious or what should be obvious.

Kovalev is a Racist Piece of Sh*t, stop defending him and those that do must obviously condone that crap or are just like him!!

There's classes over there where you can learn to fight with knives and right-wing racist neo-fascists attending them.
Yeah sorry - perhaps I should have said "there's a lot of" rather than "full of" - my mistake. Go and have a strong cup of tea and a quick lie down if I've offended anybody.

...classes where you can learn to fight with knives? attended by neo-nazis?...would you care to specify? city? private school or state-run school? each school has a number...which one is it?...I'm listening...

He's made several comments in which he brings up race when there is seemingly no reason to do so other than to associate negative qualities with certain groups but not others; to give some examples, he mentioned how 'dark guys' talk a lot then shortly after noted how Cleverly and his father did the same without commenting on their colour, and when he was criticizing Grover Young he brought up the fact that he was black several times yet fails to mention race when criticizing non-blacks. He has made other comments in which he seems to generlize negative qualities to certain groups of non-whites while acting as if the cases of whites doing the same aren't generalizable, and he talks about race to an extent and in a way that makes me to suspect that it's a salient quality in his eyes and plays a significant role in how he judges people.

There are differences between Russian and English that make his use of certain words seem more reasonable, but the tenor of some of his comments, rather than just single word epithets used exclusively for non-whites, seems prejudicial to me. I'm a big fan of him as a boxer and like the no-nonsense mean streak he shows in the ring, but at times I wonder if that's an extension of his character more generally.

As for the other half of this thread, Floyd, given his unequivocal and hateful racist comments, his proclivity for domestic assaults, and the general manner in which he carries himself, he's done enough for me to be convinced that he's not a nice person or someone who I think others should generally emulate regardless of how much he gets paid.

Hey d*ckhead, in case you didn't notice, this thread happens to be about a white guy and a black guy, so I didn't make this thread and nor is it always about black and white with me. As far as moms (we don't call our mothers>>mums) you need to get off mine because I just got off yours, the b*tch was so fat her belt size was equator.

You haven't exactly covered yourself in glory in this thread, have you kbb. Resorting to childish comments like that. You must be very proud of yourself.

There's no point you writing a long post whinging about racism & injustice if your next post is a bunch of petty insults.

SteveDoc's quote, when I said nothing negative to him at all: Did your mum like white dick or something

Says this about me but overlooks the fact that the other guy insults my mother. Thanks, keep out of this next time if this is the way you are going to be.

Just because the other person is an idiot, it doesn't mean you have to stoop to his level.

And yet you did.

Be strong, man. I'd you're going to lecture people you need to be strong, not weak.

Who are you to lecture me about being weak when you came here and judged me unfairly with the following:

Yet you still have nothing to say to him about it!! Look where I come from (mean streets of Chi) we were taught if someone takes shots at you then you shoot back, so forgive me if I defend myself no matter how much of a moron the other guy may be. If that makes me a lesser/weaker individual in your eyes then my apologies for offending you.

My message to you was for you to "be fair", if you are going to try to admonish me, then realize that you should be fair and do it to all.

I really don't bother with this guy (SteveDoc) but he is just like so many of these other posters here, "they don't like me" because i'm a fan of Floyd's and I speak my mind openly. I never go out of my way and start hurling insults until someone attempts it on me first, I prefer to just discuss boxing and boxing related topics without the insults but I can guarantee that someone will say something insulting first before I ever do.

have a nice and FAIR day my friend.

I say neither, in spite of the idiocy both have been responsible for.

Both men's actions speak volumes to the fact that they do not discriminate on the basis of color or ethnicity.

noun
1.

a person who believes in racism, the doctrine that one's own racial group is superior or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.

adjective
2.

of or like racists or racism:
racist policies; racist attitudes.

Besides, the discussion of real racists goes hand in hand with real racism.

Neither guy fits that particular argument.

I'm not offended so no need to apologise. I don't get offended by the internet.

The idiot who offended your mother is just that - an idiot. However, you went from a lengthy post about racism & injustice to petty nonsense in one post. You undid everything you previously wrote just like that.

As an immigrant to America who is in a mixed race relationship with the daughter of immigrants I know about racism in this country. It doesn't bother me because it's a sign of their weakness, not ours.

Don't let the weak drag you shown. Your response to the idiot was weak & petty & detracted from your well thought out post before.

P.s. Chicago pizza is crap :OhYes:

Well said. I doubt very much if either fighter is racist although both are capable of stupid behavior, just like all humans.

The t-shirt is clearly racist, is that even debatable?
I don't know either fighter personally so I have to judge them by their actions and their actions are racist. It's that simple.

After watching the Reggie Yates BBC documentary on Russia. Kovalev's actions make more sense.

I know there are fantastic Russian people inside and outside of Russia (a couple at my work) but that documentary is sickening and very scary. Reggie Yates is a brave man.

Russians have a very Asiatic mindset to anyone they don't know.

If they know you and like you - they will give you the shirt off their back for you.

If they don't, they will treat you lower than dirt.

I am pretty sure Kovalev has black friends and wouldn't dream of calling them a monkey or a chimp.

Stevenson isn't a friend of his so he is fair game.

Russians are the finest people on the planet but what Kovalev has done is wrong and he should be reprimanded for it. He isn't in Russia but I doubt he is a racist.

Kovalev's trainer is John David Jackson. What he posted was insensitive but somehow I doubt a racist would work for many years with an African-American trainer!

unlike Floyd's apology, this one by Kovalev was very sincere.
