Floyd wins the easiest way he can. Until someone beats him, why change? Pac was supposed to challenge him since he was the fighter of the decade, unpredictable, weird angles, a volume puncher, something Floyd has not seen before, etc, etc.

As far as people paying to see Floyd's fights? I would guess 75% pay to see him lose, and he laughs all the way to the bank. Its easy to say now, after the fact that people were dumb to pay for the fight. Captain obvious award goes to: Diddy!
"After the fact"?! Bahaha, I've been saying it BEFORE each of his fights for the past 5 yrs. I cant believe people pay for this CRAP.

Listen, I am not really a big Manny fan. I consider myself more of a Mayweather critic. If I had decided to lay down money on the fight, it would have been on Mayweather. However, I was rooting for Manny. The fight unfolded similar to how I thought it would. But, I wanted to be part of a historical event and view it the best way I could. Those that consider people like me simple minded idiots are quite intolerant and ignorant. Hey, I'm just as unhappy with how the fight went as you guys that are complaining, but at least I'm dealing with it in a rational, mature fashion. Most of you are lashing out any way you can, like a disgruntled elementary school bully.

I don't think those that wondered if Pacquiao could have enough success in the fight to make Mayweather make adjustments and perhaps even have to fight some qualify as simple minded idiots...In retrospect, I do feel silly for having wasted my time watching that performance...But, I don't think I should have known it was going to pan out that way going in.

I too felt Mayweather would win, but I was surprised to see such a bad fight.

Yes you should've known it going in. Why? Because the fight was actually taking place! Once Floyd got Manny to agree to random blood testing, the fight was over. There's a reason it didnt happen 5 yrs ago when Manny was trashing everyone. After taking a couple losses, Manny lost his bargaining power and needed Floyd more than Floyd needed him.

Well, good call I guess. Still doesn't explain why Floyd was so careful with a walking dead man.....His previous fights were far more entertaining. In the end, I guess Manny couldn't make him do as much as his previous opponents could.

10 bucks wasted for me, but glad you saved your money. :OhYes:

I can proudly say that I have not spent $1 on a Floyd Mayweather fight in my LIFE. I know how to use the perks of the internet and get stuff for free that others shell out their hard-earned $ for. It's really not hard to figure out how to plug an HDMI to HDMI wire into a TV. For the same money people wasted on this 1 Floyd fight I went down to the local Kohl's and bought 4-5 shirts. My real question is....why are people so f*cking dumb? WHO WOULD PAY to see the same crap over and over again....when they can easily just watch it for free?! He's borderline top 20-25 all time. Definitely not TBE. Definitely not top 10 either. His era wasnt filled with enough good fighters to make him the Goat. He's also not a "fighter". He's a supreme, pristine risk-adverse tactician. The all-time great list is filled with guys who werent content just to coast. You have to look to finish the job SOMETIMES or at least OCCASIONALLY in my book to be TBE. He never did that, ever. And for that he takes a backseat. The simple minded masses NEVER GAVE HIM a reason to change his style or become fan friendly. You are just reinforcing to him that it's OK to fight in this manner. The only way to get true enjoyment out of the guy would've been to not blindly shell out for his fights, force him to FIGHT, and in turn make more money. I'm dissapointed in my fellow boxing fans. They should all know better, but sadly, the majority of fight fans arent the brightest crayons in the box from a social class perspective, and thats unfortunate.

If everyone watched everything for free the sport would crumble and die out! Well done you on supporting our fighters!!

Or it may possibly go back to the days before ppv's when you could watch Muhammad Ali fight on TV...or go see Sugar Ray Robinson fight in Omaha or Milwaukee...or listen to Joe Louis on the radio. But then the fighters (and mostly promoters...think about it) would have to be happy with mere millions instead of hundreds of millions. But well done on supporting Bob Arum and the fat cats. Your money will buy him another Richebourg Grand Cru to enjoy while the fans bemoan never getting to see the best fight the best.

George Foreman quote- " Boxing is like jazz. The better it is, the less people appreciate it." " or words to that effect.

Face it, you are not a boxing fan, you are an action junkie or a fan of brawling which is why you like MP's style.

The funny thing is that it was MP who made the fight boring by his lack of attacking, lack of intelligence in how to cut off the ring and force Floyd to have to fight him and his lack of overall effectiveness.

Floyd did what Floyd always does but because he was much more effective at it in this fight (in keeping with Foreman's comment) he made it so one-sided that it bored you because your Hero couldn't do sh*t.

Floyd is a master boxer who boxed MP's to complete exposure for what he is; no more than a volume puncher with limited skills on how to cut off a ring, how to block, duck or dodge right hand shots, how to parry or slip the jab and how to use an effective defense.

Why do you have a problem? Because the jazz from Mayweather was played so much better than the rock and roll from Manny.

You are right about so many of the simple minded fans making him rich. Mayweather is a marketing genius. Just when people say they will never watch another one of his fights - bingo, there comes along a guy with a seemingly great chance to win. Like the saying goes, pay to see him win, pay to see him lose, as long as you pay to see him. His next fight will not be any different. He will bill it as his last fight. His opponent will have the style to beat him. Lets see now - we have the guys that are fast, with power, power and fast, south paws, age advantage, good counter punchers, bigger and stronger, etc, etc, etc. He just got done with what was supposed to be his toughest test yet, at 38 yrs old.

George also said Manny won the fight...

Anyhow, skillful fighters can be exciting too. Floyd's problem, is while he is ultra talented and skilled, he fights timid most of the time. An example I used earlier was Crawford. He is ultra talented and looks to the knockout. I don't care what type of boxing fan you are... everyone loves a ko. If Floyd wasn't so timid, he'd be looking for kos too. But he is timid, and that is why he gets a lot of crap.

Ha, you're mad that Floyd will go down as the biggest boxing show of all time by far. Half of the top 10 PPV buys will be his, including the top 3. He did 3 bigger fights that Lewis/Tyson. I'm not saying this in any form of support of Floyd, but it is hilariously true.

The funny thing is, depending on the opponent, Floyd's September 2015 "retirement" match will do at least 1.5M.
Then his big return/real retirement May 2016/2017 PBC PPV 50th match will do at least 2M.

Dude has a good shot of doing the top 4 PPV of all-time and 6 of the top 10.

What you should be marveled by is how the public got captivated by his brilliance, instead of a wrecking ball type. Idiots on this site claimed for years that Floyd only did numbers because of his opponents ... how stupid you guys should feel ... instead, I think many of those fans were amazed by how good he is, and wanted to see him again.

But to simply dismiss such an unprecedented financial/boxing success to pure idiocy seems a bit idiotic to me.

Of course Foreman was going to say Manny won, he did pick him to win and we all know that George always picks punchers, he said Tito would beat Hopkins but look what happened.

I wouldn't say that Floyd is timid, I'd say that he was cautious and economical but that's how he always fight so I can't see why people who watched the fight expected to see anything else. Floyd doesn't have to change his style because he has been successful with it 48 times, the onus was on MP who was the so called "volume/combination puncher" to make Mayweather have to fight his fight.

Manny did nothing, he often stayed in the center of the ring and appeared as though he was trying to outbox Floyd which we all know just wasn't going to happen.

No ward only goes around calling himself s.o.g.

Ward is a huge fake .since golovkin,Stephenson, and kovalev came around he's gone very quite about fighting.

Floyd has some redeeming qualities as a human in his late 30s he's trying to be a good son, father and look how he helped ishe smith.Floyd is a top 15 welter but hearns and srl have his number.I'm not entirely sure he'd handle breland or curry either tbh he may well get exposed there
