Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
good final fight for froch,he hasn't got long left so he might as well go out with a blockbuster, can`t see it lasting to long as he can`t outbox ggg and his defense has never been that great, ggg though has never been in with anybody as seasoned as froch and carl might turn it into a real war,be a great fight imo
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Is Taylor one of the two hardest punchers he's been in with? I'd reckon Kessler, Abraham and Pascal all hit harder than Taylor.Ghost Train wrote:The two biggest punchers he's fought (Taylor/Groves) both dropped him, GGG hits as hard (if not harder) than either. He's also a far better boxer and far more accurate then either.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Froch has had his chin tested by better men than Golovkin

Yeah. A lot of money.SNG wrote:Given that Froch has been in with him doesn't it tell you something if the fight is being made?Impractical Poster wrote: Froch has sparred with Trip G and has been quoted as saying the dude is a devastating puncher.
I'm just stating what Froch has said himself. Maybe he was embellishing. Who knows. I just want to see them fight.

Froch would fight Hercules if given the chance. Insinuating that Froch is only willing to face G because he felt he had things he could exploit during sparring is undermining Froch's heart and willingness to take on anyone. Froch has an incredible ego, and I'm sure he feels he can beat anyone out there. Froch stating that G hits like a mule and advises people to steer clear of him just makes his willingness to face G even that much more honorable. He may have seen things he could exploit during sparring, or not. But, if you're a Froch fan, shame on you for giving the idea that he would only face him if that were the reason.Maxsplit wrote:Haha!SNG wrote:Given that Froch has been in with him doesn't it tell you something if the fight is being made?Impractical Poster wrote: Froch has sparred with Trip G and has been quoted as saying the dude is a devastating puncher.

Are we even sure that they sparred ? A source ?
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
My thoughts exactly. Froch swings big brass ones, and that could easily be the answer to your question.Impractical Poster wrote:Froch would fight Hercules if given the chance. Yeah, as shown by Froch's frequent trips to 175 to fight the big names. Froch fights the best but he hasn't exactly had much choice. When they decided the opponents we got an old Kessler (which can be excused) and Yusef Mack.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
I saw Froch talking on a video a few years back, saying GGG hit like a mule.ikorolev wrote:Are we even sure that they sparred ? A source ?
Good fight, and one I am surprised Froch is taking at this stage in his career. Props to him, and to GGG moving up, if it goes through which isn't a done deal as far as I know.

Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Kovalev is on record stating "Golovkin hits like a sledgehammer". Apparently, When Abel would have Kovalev and Gennady spar, Abel stated that Kovalev would do no good for sparring because he was either showing G too much respect or was afraid of him.
BTW, I'm not positive that Froch has sparred with him. I just assumed because of what Froch had said of G's punching power.

Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
I've never heard of them sparring. When Froch has commented on GGG's power I assumed that he made those judgments based on GGG fights he watched.

Either way... Froch has seen it and Kovalev has felt it.

I'm not trying to write Froch off in an overall sense, he's a great fighter.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Froch is much bigger, much stronger, much harder hitting, and all round better than anyone else GGG has met - so I wouldn't be so quick to write Froch off.Bobbyptsd wrote:Golovkin absolutely brutalizes Froch. He has a good (or bad, depending on your view) style for GGG.
It's a style and timing thing, I think GGG beats him badly. I mean, I'd like to say I think it's a great fight. But I don't.

Is that what you said before he signed to fight each of his last 10 oponents?crow wrote:Gents,

Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
I've said on here before, I'm not convinced Carl is going to fight again. However, if he does take on GGG I think he could beat him. GGG isn't really an SMW, it would be a money move for him. Froch, on the other hand, is a monster SMW with sometimes underrated skills. I think it's a close one but I would back Froch in that fight.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
if carl makes that fight he turns from brave
to legendary. he can win this, because he is
carl froch, but it probably turns out to be his
toughest bout.

Froch is a very vain man who likes nothing more than hearing the sound of his own voice.ALI wrote:Is that what you said before he signed to fight each of his last 10 oponents?crow wrote:Gents,

He's already been exposed for this by Groves in the first fight.
Carl can make a respectable sum against any fighter he chooses at this stage of his career.
And all Golovkin brings is the certainty of being battered and humbled in front of his adoring fans at home.
If you believe Froch for his intention on facing GGG ( or for that matter, Chavez Jr when he announced likewise), i have a London bridge for sale at a great bargain.

Brave to legendary for fighting a guy smaller? Clearly smaller?

I wish Hager had never fought Leonard. The size difference is why no one remembers that fight.walshb wrote:man wrote:if carl makes that fight he turns from brave

Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
Froch just has to take this fight. This is his defining fight! Calzaghe had Lacy and prime Kessler. Froch lost his one hug fight against ward and this is his big chance. GGG could defo stop Froch. They guy hits like a truck but I'm going with Froch here. He's got so much more experience and GGG is lets be honest untested.

Yeah, given that Froch would have torn him a new arsehole, can't imagine why he would have been avoiding that fight.

Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
I agree, although Golovkin isn't quite the proven article yet, he has appeared as destructive a category A hurricane so far, and is the young lion comparatively, - what a way to finish off a career to end the aspirations of someone as dangerous as Golovkin moving up into his territory.cfang wrote:Froch just has to take this fight. It is hard to envisage how the fight could possibly be a let down too, both men like to get stuck in, both have excellent chins, and both have serious firepower.
You'd also have to say that if Golovkin did do a number on Froch it would be a very impressive feat, because nobody else has really looked like stopping Carl before despite the knockdowns in his career.
Re: Carl Froch Vs Gennady Golovkin In Talks For September
I like that Froch shows absolutely no fear whatsoever and says he will back up the smaller GGG. I'd love to see this bout, it's about time that Golovkin move up instead of fantasizing about moving down for a fight he has done nothing to earn.
