Sturm/Chudinov 2..............see for yourself.
Chudinov was stiffed hard by the judges.

It doesn't matter if Geale and Soliman are interested in Sturm, he will not be interested in bringing them back to Germany.
Felix is talking retirement and maybe Soliman and Geale should be considering the same.
Cheers for the shortcut. Had a quick look. Will watch the fight in its entirety when I get the chance.

The comments under the Youtube clip make for interesting reading.

Compubox say Chudinov outlanded Sturm 226-143, adding that Sturm was more efficient with power shots, landing 41%.

09:53
All the allegedly pundits have it for Chudinov, they're convinced the Russian deserved to get the decision and pro boxer Jamie Cox is adamant Chudinov deserved to get it too. Felix Sturm is no stranger to split decisions going his way.

09:50
It's a majority decision 114-114 on one card, 115-113 twice for Felix Sturm. A close fight but a huge result for Felix Sturm.

09:45
I think Sturm has done enough (as I say I'm not in the arena). But who cares what I think? We wait for the judges' verdict.

09:45
Chudinov lashes him back with a one-two just before the final bell.

09:44
Sturm slips another right hook through his guard.

09:43
As Chudinov throws, Sturm's right sends him back.

09:42
Into the last round.

Team Chudinov To File Official Protest Over Sturm Decision

http://www.BS.com/team-chudino ... on--101576?

Russian promotional firm Patriot, who handle former world champion Fedor Chudinov, are filing an official protest over the Saturday's twelve round decision loss to Felix Sturm in Germany.

One judge had it a draw 114-114, while the other two scored it 115-113.

Most observers felt Chuninov was robbed of a win, some scored it a draw, but very few had the fight pegged in favor of Sturm.

Chudinov's ability to overturn the decision is not likely, but the best case scenario is the WBA will issue an order to force Sturm to make an immediate trilogy defense against Chudinov.

"In our opinion, the decision was wrong, unprofessional and dishonest," was the statement by Patriot in the protest.

This thing is really starting to heat up. Chudinov's camp claiming the gloves were substandard and the glove manufacturer countering that by claiming Chudinov's camp must have applied something to them that hurt Sturm's eyes during the fight >>>

Sturm-Chudinov glove controversy erupts; WBA to review scoring; rematch clause in effect

The Team of former WBA super middleweight champion Fedor Chudinov has issued a statement saying that the gloves Chudinov used in his loss to Felix Sturm last Saturday in Germany, were not up to professional standards, shedding red paint during the bout, and they plan to have the gloves examined. Sturm’s gloves showed no ill-effects in the bout. Grant brand gloves were used by both fighters.

Elvis Grant Phillips, CEO/Founder of Grant Gloves said: “It’s obvious that something not cool went down. Do you have any idea what it takes to make both labels fall off the gloves and the color on tanned leather to come off completely to see the natural skin, all in 36 minutes of use?"

"Sturm told me and his camp that his forehead was burning but he didn’t know why? Hmmmmm".

“We also have the backup gloves that are signed off by Chudinov’s camp and the BDB, so we have our proof with these that there was nothing wrong with the gloves and that they were perfect, before whatever solution was applied to them. We visited the biggest German paper and they gave me some great photos, you can see the gloves look super shiny and wet from the start of the fight.

“In almost 25 years, we’ve never had anything like this, all the way back to Leonard, Duran, Holyfield, Hopkins, Jones, Mayweather, Trinidad, GGG, etc, etc.”

According to the Chudinov camp, without the glove problem their man could well have scored a knockout. Grant counters, “Sturm is a very good friend of mine, so by making fluky gloves that Chudinov would wear, we would be hurting Sturm, since the color would be coming off in his eyes!”

In any event, the Chudinov camp has filed a protest with the WBA over the scoring of judges Ignacio Robles (114-114), Jean-Louis Leglande (115-113 Sturm) and Giuseppe Quartarone (115-113 Sturm) and the WBA will conduct a former review of the fight.

The fight contract contained a rematch clause, so Sturm-Chudinov III could be on the horizon.

That's very interesting, something very, very similar happened with Sam Soliman with his last fight with Sturm. Sam was smart enough to notice it and may have switched gloves when no one would notice. Sam may even still have said gloves.

Probably the same scenario as Wlod-Palacios 1. They would probably allow Sturm a voluntary if it's lucrative enough before the rematch is ordered.
