I gave Hearn a pass for Joke Dan as it was a mandatory, the injury and it wasn't box office.

I also didn't have that much of a problem with Gavin as it was only about 7 weeks After Dan and it wasn't blocking a better fight from happening.

However, Hearn deserves to be crucified if he can't get a deal to get the likes of Rios or an equally good opponent over especially as he has box office backing.

I don't see where the cash will come from. Rios will be used to serious paydays.

What would you class as serious paydays? I'm sure £300-400k for this wouldn't be completely out of the question for Rios if the pair of them are headlining a ppv on their own with an old fashioned good undercard rather than a 'stacked' one. Yeah true I think he collected 5m to get beaten up by Pacquaio. However Hearn is yet to prove he can be a force in world boxing - he has got to get a big boy over to the UK..I fear he will get a Lower ranked opponent for Brook and then do another 'stacked card' to justify PPV.

Acosta - $125k
Antillon - ?
Murray - $325k
Abril - $450k
Alvarado I - $500k
Alvarado II - $1.25m
Pacquiao - $4m guarantee, don't know whether he took a cut of the PPV.
Chaves - $925k
Alvarado III - $850k

Realistically with the options Rios has in America and having to travel he'd be looking for at least $1m based on his previous purses. The issue seems to be coming down to options though, Hearn wants a clause for a rematch here if Rios wins and the money wouldn't be much better for the second fight.

To be honest, i don't think Brook is the level of fighter who can enable a promoter to dictate re-match purses prior to the first fight! If he was to lose, he should go over and travel on the Rios team terms.

Erm - he's the champion so of course he can dictate accepting that an opponent can always say no.

Of course he can try but there are certain fighters that people will do anything to get a shot at and take all of the clauses put on the table. Brook isn't at that stage...yet.

So what is Rios problem ?
A route to the title which then would put him in the frame for richer pickings particularly in his own back yard.
If as he seems to believe Brook is not a difficult task using your logic he should be saying fornicate the options let's get it on. The money is right.

What was suggested earlier in the thread was that the re-match option was for it to be over here again and on similar financial terms. Not many would be overly keen on that prospect.

I've no idea what his problem is and i doubt that he thinks Brook is an easy fight. If he did, he'd snap the offer up straight away.

If the rematch situation isn't as suggested earlier in the thread then Rios should be all over or he simply doesn't fancy taking on Brook
