Y'all some straight up hypocrites, many times I've heard folks here be critical of fighters chasing big money fights but now that it is someone y'all think is so devastating chasing someone else who has money then y'all are all in support of it but if other fighters hold out for bigger money vs certain opponents they are criticized for the same thing y'all are condoning here.

Make up your mind, is fighting for cash more important or legacy more important??

If you have a source that shows Ward saying no then please provide it because from what I've seen he's personally confronted GGG for a bout and of all the times they asked GGG in the past for a fight with Ward he or his manager would always say "he's only a MW".

How convenient he's only a MW response when it comes to moving up but the minute they mentioned Manny or Floyd then immediately he is ready to move down (which is harder, so why would one duck moving up knowing this) but not up.

Brut, you are pathetic every time you feel your beloved Floyd is in danger.

Surprised you missed this, it was quoted here plenty. No denial from Ward or HBO. BTW Ward never confronted GGG, nor made any real attempt to make the fight. Even Roc Nation CEO is saying, when it make financial sense, and they're loaded and unafraid to take losses (eg paying Ward 2m for a tune-up on BET). And Virgil Hunter is saying, let the fight marinate. If Ward wants it that bad, he needs to get his team onboard first, and make an offer finally

As for the rest, like Floyd says, its prize fighting, dummy. That lineal SWW belt is also a nice bonus, as is Floyds scalp on Gggs resume

Thanks for sharing that and I hadn't seen it but we all know what was being said long before Ward hooked up with Roc Nation and there is much jargon from GGG's folks about Golovkin not being ready and only being a MW from last year, so maybe it is time for this bout to happen.

Maybe they will wait it out and make it the next superfight, as far as scalping Floyd I don't think GGG will beat Floyd; Mayweather is far too cerebral and is faster than anyone he's ever faced not to mention that Money's defense is far superior than anything he's ever seen as well.

It would be a bunch of excuses if GGG does drop down and lose to Floyd, we all know it's always the case (many-arm, canelo-weight, jmm-weight) there are numerous ways to try and discredit those easy wins, I'm certain this would be no different.

It would be "weight" and being drained.

Maidana was slow, smaller and much worse all around. Ffs he got shut out by Alexander. Heck Castillo was slow, and he beat Floyd. GGG would just murder him.

I wonder what was the biggest fight purse/s that these guys received during their careers?
Geale made somewhere in the order of $2million when he beat Mundine in their rematch.
After expenses, management fees, and tax, those aren't big fees. Take away less than half of those figures.

How do you know this figures, are they public domain?
The figures earlier in the thread weren't provided by me - not even my post.

The figures for the Geale vs Mundine II fight were made public. That is the figure I commented on.

The overheads for the Geale vs Mundine fight were low in comparison to many fights as both fighters were fighting in their own country. Tax is just a fact of life,

Bottom line is Geale made multiples of the amount he would have received for fighting Golovkin when he fought Mundine. Probably 3 to 4 times as much.

Those figures were reported by credible sources and you should still be able to find most of them online. The only one I can't find any longer is Rosado's, but I strongly recall it being reported that he made $150k or $160k for GGG's second HBO fight. I give the upper-limit of the range as $200k because I noticed multiple forum commentators suggest that he was actually paid $200k, though I still think it was more likely $150-160k.

Of course like every purse I know of there are others who get a cut.

Mike Tyson: Midget who melts down if you stand up to him.

In other words, you're being an idiot, and your attempt at the excuse game is invalid.

I'm being called an 'idiot' because I don't think Golovkin beating Lara, who only hardcore boxing fans give a s^&* about, and Bradley, whose prime was at 140 and who has already taken a career's worth of punishment, would garnish him to "stardom." OK, have fun in fantasyville.
Or it's because every boxing fan who isn't completely new to the forum should know by now not to indulge in some bogus excuse game where you're basically lying about the excuses. It's easy to call Pacquiao a one-handed light flyweight, if you're just a straight-up liar. He's a two-handed fighter now, and he doesn't still fight at 108 where he began his career. It's easy to call George Foreman a limited slugger, even though that's intellectually dishonest and he's among the greatest heavyweights of all time. It's easy to call Bradley a junior welterweight........... if you're a liar. Timothy Bradley right now is a massive welterweight. It's not like he weighs-in in fully clothed. He's not 144 pounds soaking wet. He's a brick house who weighs infinity on fight night. Nor is he shopworn. Roy Jones Jr. is shopworn. To call Lara a runner is like calling Mayweather a runner -- I mean, I bet neither of those punk b*tches could even beat anyone, right? Or they CAN. Calling Lara or Mayweather a runner is missing the point on the same order as calling George Foreman a limited slugger. The point is that they're all top tier fighters to varying degrees, and your characterizations of them is entirely invalid or irrelevant, aside from the part where you said Lara was a junior middleweight.

In conclusion, anyone who's been around the boxrec block before should not be playing the bogus excuse game. You can poke holes in every fighter's resume, you can render intellectually dishonest denouncements of any fighter. You can spin the good or the neutral to seem bad. By now, we've all seen it play out. ... Or I THOUGHT we all did. Apparently, even after being here for 12 years, you're still stumbling into this fallacy. In future discussions, I hope you won't keep doing this.

5'6 Bradley. who through age 28 was fighting at 140 and was not even a big puncher at that weight, is now a HUGE welter who is so huge, he'd been given a change to beat the middleweight champion of the world? A guy who is lb for lb maybe the biggest puncher in boxing, vs a much smaller fighter who was badly hurt by Vargas in his last fight and took incredible punishment and was out on his feet several times vs Provodnikov  OK . . . . . .

I actually like Lara, but he doesn't have a fan friendly style and doesn't put a$$es in seats. This is backed up by real numbers. I have facts and reality on my side. All you can do is, instead of actually addressing my points, rant and rave about so-called "bogus excuses" . .
