Wlad lost with Purrity and Brewster because he gassed out, he knew use his jab in that period but he didn't know how to pace himself. And he lost with Sanders because Sander hit him and he didn't know how to survive instead of clinching as he would do now, he tried to fight back and he was punished. So in any of that 3 loses I don't see the jab was the key.

Should be a new challenge with Fury's height.
Though he lacks the experience imo.
Klitschko will take control in round 4/5 imo

Six more days!
I'm more excited about this fight than any in several years.
I'm honestly not sure who will win.
Klitschko is clearly a better athlete and the more skillful boxer, but he's a couple of months away from his 40th birthday and looked a bit slower in the Jennings fight. Fury has decent boxing skills, and he's younger, bigger and full of confidence.

Some parallels between this fight and cotto canelo fight
klitscho and cotto
much older
much more experienced
generally considered more skilled
Smaller
lighter
Canelo and fury
Very confident
much younger
Better skills than given credit for
Bigger
heavier
Just a few. I was suprised on the weekend when canelo managed to not only out muscle but outbox cotto.

Can Fury, a fighter who was dropped by two light hitters, walk through Wlad's shots like Canelo walked through Cotto's?
I'd say that even though Fury is bigger Wlad is a significantly harder puncher and at least as strong physically.

I expect it to go the distance, with Wlad winning a decision. I'm not a Tyson Fury fan but think he is entertaining, and game. He will come to fight.

A real long shot, but if Fury is able to hurt Wlad early, things could get very interesting. Fury will have to take chances, risking himself getting KO'd, but remember Wlad is almost 40, and has been KO'd 3 times even though it has been several years ago. I don't think Fury is anywhere near Wlad in the skill department, but does have youth and a lot of heart. Both are good at using their size to their advantage, so that makes it interesting as well.

How do those picking Wlad by decision think Fury will cope with Wlad's power? Or do you think Wlad won't be throwing many right hands and will try and just jab and grab his way to a messy points victory?
I originally thought Wlad KO all day but now I'm not sure if Fury might muddle his way through to the final bell somehow

Much has been said of Fury being put on his arse by blown up cruisers, light hitters etc. He's looked ok once off the canvas or at the least known what to do to recuperate. Now we all know Wlad has been on his arse a hell of lot more times than Fury but that has been discounted for some reason. I suspect it's due to the fact that it was bonfide heavies putting him there or that it was such a long time ago. Whatever it is who knows but I feel Fury needs a bit of respect rather than the same old, he's been put down by a cruiser, so what he got up just fine. Yes Wlad is gonna be the hardest puncher he's faced no doubt but we shall see how he does on the night.

It may well be that Fury has recuperative abilities in spades, but when someone is that badly affected by shots from light hitters, one of whom couldn't even punch at cruiserweight, it makes me wonder how they will react to shots from a puncher like Wlad; I won't be surprised if Fury's so badly hurt that he's unable to recover, even if he got on just fine after USS and Pajkic decked him.

I agree, he has never faced anyone that punched like Wlad. It could well be that his recuperative powers don't extend to hard hitting heavies but he may surprise us. On that note, I still have memories of Wlad falling all over the place versus Peter. I suppose that was the first time we actually saw Wlad see a fight through after touching canvas. As Fury could be classed as 'light hitter' himself, he could still stick Wlad on his bum, probably not long enough to keep him there but a Tyson/Bruno 1 moment nonetheless

Fury's only chance is to come out quick and try turn it into a brawl.
Otherwise he will be eating Wlads jab all night long as his face disintegrates into a mess, before Wlad probably ends it later.

Anyone who has boxed will telll you , a good jab is in the distancing , I guy with shorter reach can and will out jab a guy with longer reach if he knows his distancing and gets it correct .. Getting your distance correct is in the footwork and Vlad excels over Tyson , in this regard ,,, Tyson trys that Ingle style leaning back , and its good night ,, Unless you have terrific reflexes and speed , which Tyson does'nt its has easy has 2-3 straight jabs , and boom ,,
Sliding that foot in only a couple of inches to get 6 inchs more reach is what Vlad does , he's built a carreer on controling range and Tyson is going to get found out , for what he is , a BIG guy with a mediorce chin and limited skills almost no power for his size , who's been nutured fed hand picked smaller guys , with the sole purpose of having this one or two big paydays , . Tyson has a manipulater and showman , is the champ of the world ,, has a boxer he's borderline top 10 ..
Aj is another hype job at the moment , but he would stop Fury

That was the first thing that they taught me when I started boxing.
I tend to agree with the rest of what you said too - but who knows, expect the unexpected, and Fury did look much improved in his last fight against Chisora, even tho I believe he was sick at the time. Chisora is certainly no Wladimir though (tho the POS spit in his face - and should have been permanently banned from boxing for doing that as well as for being a career criminal and an illegal immigrant in the UK). Well, Fury's got the guts, at least he talks the talk. His legs won't turn to rubber like David Haye's did, at least I don't think they will. This should be very interesting even tho chances are your assessment is quite correct. Guys' attitudes seem to change abruptly the first time they get hit with one of Wlad's piledriver jabs.

The more I think about this from a purely objective perspective, taking out all of the hype and chat Fury has been giving about how he's going to make Klitschko look silly and how he's going to KO him and taking away the patriotic angle, Fury faces a task of truly epic proportions here.
He's fighting a guy away from home who is better technically than him in almost all areas, has significantly more power than him, has a chin which is no worse than his and has bags more experience. Let's face it, if Tyson wins this it'd be one of the biggest upsets in the sport in a long while. I think the only real way anyone can beat Klitschko now is to stop him. He won't be outboxed by Fury that's for sure and even if he is Fury would have to be utterly dominant in my view to get the decision (which seems a very remote possibility). Fury also is not a big puncher and I'd be amazed if he could take Wlad out with one shot. Haye hit Wlad with a couple of huge shots in their fight and never had Wlad in any real trouble. Does Fury hit harder than Haye? No chance in my view. Added to the fact that Fury himself hardly has a great defence or chin. It's almost impossible to see Wlad not landing numerous big shots himself.
I actually think the 1/4 the bookies are offering on a Wlad win is pretty fair. If Fury wasn't British I'm pretty sure Wlad would be more like 1/8.

..unless one of them got old overnight and the other one drastically improved over the same period of time, I wouldn't expect any surprises...should be business as usual though...

Fury's best performances skill-wise, at least the ones I think his reputation of being a skilled boxer are largely based on, also came against opponents much shorter than Wlad, who also happened to be slow plodders without much power. Wlad has seen a far greater range of opposition in his career, has sparred with many good tall fighters, and is in my view probably more prepared to deal with Fury than Fury is to deal with him.

i think this all depends on how long it takes Wlad to land flush on Tysons Chops as to when the fight ends. Fury will go down with a fight no doubt, but i think he will go down, i don't think this will go the distance.
Wlad rd 8-10 TKO
I don't think it will be furys game plan to get into a brawl, but he won't be able to help himself once he gets hurt.
