Very interesting that the majority of irrational criticism of Froch comes from his countrymen. He seems to evoke the kind of emotion that FMJ does, though on a micro level.

Simple question - who fought a tougher string of fights than Froch between 2008 and 2014?

CalSlappy would have likely out pointed Froch. Carl will never defeat Ward. 3G would be favored no matter where they fought at this point. But none of them have had the run of top level fights that Froch has. 3G has had no choice in the matter.

Carl Froch is a great warrior. He is not a great boxer. He is an over achiever. He is the antithesis of FMJ.

Personally I cant see Froch fighting again.
The Golovkin fight would give him a payday and he'd also have the physical advantages.
Froch has beaten some very very good fighters but he has never beaten a GREAT fighter. Golovkin I believe will fit into the great category once his career is done and dusted.
Also I think the idea of Golovkin moving up in weight is unlikely due to Cotto and Canelo a weight below.

Also the original comment about Calzaghe by Rafael is wrong.
A prime Calzaghe was happy to face mandatorys in his own backyard.
The idea of him facing a number 1 contender from another weight class is hypothetical and personally I think far fetched. And I'm welsh!!

Yeah running and hugging wins fights, and it's easy to look great against the likes of competition that GGG has had. Any fighter, even little/tiny Cotto is doing what Golovkin is doing to the same fighters.

Calzaghe is undefeated and has Kessler, RJJ and BHop on his resume. Froch lost 2 (should be 3) times. He is basically the same level as Kessler, and Calzaghe is clearly above that.
