I can't see anything other than an easy win for Smith here. Good fight but not 50/50 for me. I don't think Fielding will be able to handle the body shots.

Not a 50-50 for me.

Smith is too tall and solid imo. He has some reach on him and i can see Fielding eating one-twos from distance all night. Possibly a late stoppage for Smith.

Fancy Fielding to win, don't understand all the fuss about Smith, very average defence, he isn't a puncher like he's made out to be and I haven't see anything that says he can outbox Fielding either. Fielding has really come on in the last couple of years since he reached title level, I think he stops Smith sometime between rounds 8 and 11.

I like Smith here but I do find him a bit overrated.

Undecided as both guys have power to beat each other and neither has been in deep water yet.

However you want to be undecided about the outcome that's why you look forward to a fight and that is something sky have not done anywhere near enough this year. looks like Hearn is finally making up for it.

I never thought he was particularly special but he dealt with Christophe Rebrasse much more convincingly than George Groves. Rebrasse is a very solid fighter so was impressed with that.

Rebrasse is overrated too in my opinion. What did he do to be so respected? Go the distance with Groves while winning maybe two rounds? Beat Mouhamed Ali Ndiaye?

He's durable and comes to fight but is overall fairly limited, and I don't think widely beating him is as impressive as some have made out.

All Smith camp emphasized how they did not have to take this fight and how they took it anyway. What is this? Are they over confident or in fact the other way around, are they bit scared?

I have not seen anything that suggest Callum Smith would easily beat Rocky Fielding, or that he is necessarily a world class prospect. I think the hype is getting to his head. I side with Rocky to put young Smith in his place.

The point wasn't about Rebrasse being that good, more that Smith looked better than Groves in beating him. And Groves is regarded as borderline world level so Smith looks as though he could possibly be in that same bracket.

i've not been that impressed with either of them. Smith is so stylistically ugly, 'plod forward hands high no head movement work the body', ugh, i definitely find it difficult to get worked up about the big stiff idiot.

kindof reminds me of Smith - Dodson, not sure why anyone outside an L postcode would be all that bothered, maybe its just me....

Did you read the second sentence above Rebrasse being very solid? To me that seemed like a suggestion that Rebrasse is good to an extent that dominating him is impressive and attention grabbing, but I don't see that as a big deal for someone pegged as a potential world champ, and I think Rebrasse's reputation is a bit inflated among some in the British boxing scene.

I only gave him two rounds against Groves and I don't think Smith really outdid GG in a manner that says a lot, just as I don't read much into Smith failing to put away or even drop someone like Boisse, even though Grachev blew him away in four and journeyman Marcus Upshaw put him down and out. Smith is promising and I think he'll beat Fielding, but I haven't really seen the super prospect that others have and to me he seems a bit basic, easy to hit, and lumbering. He's obviously got his strengths too, one being his size, but he's still a question to me in terms of what level he'll end up belonging at and right now I won't be surprised if he falls short of what seem like the general expectations.

'168lb' John Murray who looks great against undersized/outmatched guys. Meh.

I still think Groves could have got Rebrasse out early, he wanted to make a statement by going 12 rounds and showing his fitness - he threw 1,000 punches...

I wonder what it would take for Smith to adopt that as a nickname,it has a ring to it !
168 lb John Murray's infinitely more identifiable that 'Mundo' ......

It's an intriguing fight, Smith is a good boxer and Fielding is a bit more rough around the edges.
If Smith can keep it at range he should get a decision, but if Rocky can turn it into a scrap and land that left hook of his it could be all over.

I'm glad it is happening now and not later down the line as I think both men need this fight before stepping up.
For Rocky I think it will be the first time I've seen him fight someone bigger than himself and for Smith I think Rocky will be the first opponent with the power to hurt him, he will need to move his head.

I reckon Callum will go on to be world class. He will win this by early-mid stoppage.

I reckon Smith will probably win this, Rocky seems to keep winning though so you never know but there both as about as charismatic as a mud pie so not really bothered who wins.

I give Smith a slight edge but there really isnt much to choose and i see quite a cagey affair which goes to points, both guys do carry power but also like to box for for the most part, they like to box on the front foot, control the fight and their stoppages usually come off them landing a hurtful punch then capatalising as opposed to going all out for the KO,but both guys are excellent finishers who rarely let their opponents off the hook once they've got them in trouble

Fielding has had a couple off sub par performances, mainly Adamu i remember being a stinker but he has had more fights than Callum so its all im really going off,Smith's power is impressive but im more impressed by his boxing abilty,he's a precise and accurate puncher, mixes upstairs and down very well, still looks in control when being pressed and looks to have a good engine,i do think there's a chance Rocky can KO him though if he catches him but i reckon it goes the distance and Smith IMO is a better technician and i dont know if Fielding is as comfortable being pressured than Callum is

Callum looks constantly on edge and not sure how he will handle the bigger fights.

I'd expect both to be cagey and a little stand-off'ish during the fight. I see it going the distance and not being a slugfest. Both will be wary of the others power.

It's a good measure for both though.

I read Fielding the other saying that he's always wanted to fight for a major title,it must have slipped his mind he was a Commonwealth champ
