No mara. Fury hold no upper hands in terms of strength, athleticism, "smarts" or experience. If they were both 25 then I'd give Fury a chance because of his traveler upbringing - but Klitschko should have bought enough tee-shirts by now to be able to nullify him. In fact, if he doesn't stop Fury, then I'd be disappointed from his point of view.

Well, if you give him a 20% chance of winning, that's 1 time in 5, if you give him 25% then it's one in 4 - worth looking at it that way when trying to compare odds being offered, to actual chance of winning.

It sounds to me like you don't actually rate his chances anywhere near as high as your own numbers suggest.

Sure, I understand it sounds like that. To be fair, I rate Tyson's chances at somewhere around that mark to the extent that I would back it with a few quid (although not a month's wages). Anyway, percentages aside I give Tyson a better chance than the vast majority of people on this forum going by the posts I've read. To me Tyson is the best match out there for Wlad apart from Wilder and that's why I'm going to the fight. Why? Because of his "craziness" as I mentioned before. He's also bigger than Wlad and younger plus he can really fight. Someone posted on this forum about how people were only giving Tyson a prayer because he's a Brit. I actually think a lot of people put Tyson down because he's a Brit - he's overweight, a traveller, brawler etc.

This is selling Fury short, yes he used to be overweight and yes McDermott did get robbed against him. But Tyson's not like that anymore, he's been outclassing his opponents recently and he's been getting better. Tyson is now a legitimate world class heavyweight and he has a 1 in 4 (or thereabouts) chance of giving Klitschko all kinds of trouble (maybe even winning). We can analyse their techniques and past records all we want (and we will) and Klitschko comes out better than the Furious One every time. However, in my opinion, this fight has enough intangibles about it to be worth a flutter at somewhere around those odds.

I could have this wrong, it wouldn't be the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last either. Nevertheless, I'm putting this out on boxrec now. To me, Tyson is a live opponent and he's going to Germany to get that belt. He's not just being thrown to Klitschko and getting paid very nicely for it.

Fury might be younger,fresher,faster and maybe even technically better than Klitschko but Wlad is just so effective at what he does that for over a decade he can nullify whatever his opponents will bring to the ring

Tyson's size and reach do make this fight interesting though,If Klitschko cant lean on Fury then thats a start and even better if Fury can use his feet to keep Wlad from holding,maybe switch southpaw then you never know

I dont think Fury will get tagged like he did against Cunningham,i sense a more sensible approach from him,i know the Abell fight was more recent but i suspect that has more to do with Fury's motivation,eccentricity or whatever you want to call it

if anything i suspect Fury might just not be experienced enough to dethrone Wlad yet and loses on points,closely

TBF I change my mind on a daily basis,8 out of 10 times i see Klitschko winning but as i said in the opening paragraph,Fury might just be a better boxer than Klitschko and barring him getting KO'd he might just shock everyone and stay switched on like he did against Chisora and Johnson and use his reach and lateral movement to eek out a decision

I think you do have it wrong. Provided Wladimir doesn't turn up with the sh*ts from food poisoning or a virus then he should have far too much for Fury. I like Fury, I don't know him personally but I do find him entertaining and interesting and honest. I think his size and his illegal use of the forearm had a lot to do with his win over Cunningham. He was impressive against Chisora but I really don't see how "balls to the wall" is going to be enough to beat a kid from Chernobyl who's grown up fratching with Vitali Klitschko.

I'll be having a punt on Fury to stop Wlad in rounds 7-12 - 12/1 ish I think. No big figures - been there/done that.

Going over so I'm choosing to be optimistic. He's got a lot better chance than many think.
