There is no 50 tax rate any more is there? Or is that just PAYE, I thought the top rate if you are self employed was 40%?

I know a fair bit about tax. My brother-in-law pays 50% tax. Fury might put it though a company, but will then have to submit accounts and pay that. Unless he joins a tax avoidance scheme, but some of those people are having to pay back the tax retrospectively.

I'm under the impression the challenger has to pay smaller sanctioning fees, but I could be wrong.

You pay tax on what you have earnt AFTER deductions ,, such has managers fee , trainers fee ect ect ,, the manager and trainers pay there own tax , on what theve been paid ,,

Like others have said it depends how he's set up ,, possibly could be a company , and only recieves a directors dividend .. Lots of ways to get around what you pay in tax , IF you have a smart accountant , ,, the pollies bring in the rules to take our money , but leave enough loop holes for themselves to pay lees than we do ..

Its all about paying a good accountant .

Thee latest budget has made significant changes to the way dividends are taxed. These changes do not come into force until next year but they are not favourable for those who have their businesses set up that way compared to now. For now Fury will be paying approximately 41 per cent tax in real terms (corporation tax and dividend tax) on most if not all of the profits from this fight. Unless he's some sort of non-dom or has a creative expenses list, it doesn't matter how smart hiis accountant is, that's what will be paid on declared profits.

So would you say he'll come home with a few hundred grand? I think he'll clear a bit more.

I think it says a lot for Fury & his team because he could've called out Wlad then knocked the fight back due to poor deal & still save face which does happen unfortunately,instead Tyson seems to have agreed to whatever they want just to get his shot, just my way of looking at it but it shows me he's confident & happy to be there. Hope he does it not because i'm a huge fan ,just because i (like most) would love a competitive hw division.

P.s hopefully this might shut the fools up who believe Tyson views this as a "cash-out" fight. ludicrous.

I don't know, that could have been a big PPV fight in the UK. Haye always brought money and attention, he and Klit apparently got $36 mill a piece when they fought.

That's a lot of money, its no wonder Haye seems ambivalent about boxing again, wasn't Haye a resident of North Cyprus at the time? Couldn't Fury so the same?

To put that into perspective - that's well over 20 YEARS wages for the average British worker.

Apologies, spoke to him last night he's on 45% (he rounded it up to half when he was moaning about how much tax he pays. There are allowances to come off that as well.

He's lucky we didn't sue him in a class action for not trying, he got that dough under false pretenses.

Even with a good deal he wouldn't have got close to that much, for them to get $36m each the whole event would have had to bring in $80m+, it was a big fight but I doubt it was that big.

He didn't get that.
