I will take the lack of response from the Cox camp to mean the fight was never signed then. Par for the course I suppose given current promoter.

Most promoters announce fights on them being agreed before the (usually) formality of contracts being signed, this goes for all promoters not just W-arren.

The proofs out there if you look, an high profiel example Gavin v Van Heerden. Fight announced tickets sold etc etc then Gavin pulled out for the Brooke fight and specifically said on twitter contracts weren't signed with Van Heerden just agreed.

William Shatner? aka TJ Hooker/ Captain Kirk? Why would anyone want to look at his "bassoons"? :o

I have known Jamie Cox for about 7 years and he has always been polite and respectful, in the ring he is a warrior, a real throwback, he can give it and he can take it and he will fight anyone, he does have a razor's edge, but that's what makes him such an exiting fighter, if his trainer says that his name should be cleared, then it could be a case of "much to do about nothing", in any case it is not like the rest of us have not had a "domestic" at some stage, I don't know why some people are getting so exited, I would rather talk about his ability as a fighter, after all it is a boxing forum, with regards to Khomitsky, I believe he turned a match with Cox down and the Australians don't pay that well.

I hope he gets back in with a good test soon - has Michael Grant retired? That was a good amateur bout, Grant v Cox.

I think I remember Jamie was stopping everyone on the way to the final and it looked like Amir Khan pulled out of the ABA's because Cox and Grant looked hard bouts, he'd been dropped and hurt by Craig Watson and scraped through. Grant was class, I hope Jamie can get some momentum going - Khan has done incredible since then.

Apologies in advance if someone has already mentioned this, as I haven't got the inclination to look back over every post to date, but should Cox get a couple of decent wins under his belt, surely a West Country 'derby' between Cox and Blackwell would be a cracking fight? Swindon vs Trowbridge and the amateur star who can bang versus the unheralded guy who came through the unlicensed ranks and seems like a bit of a tank? Could take place at Middle or Super-Middle I imagine?

I brought this up a few weeks ago as I`m from Bristol and know them both a little bit.
I`d previously though Blackwell would be too big and strong for Cox,but Jamie`s looked like a bit of a beast in his comeback fight`s hasn`t he ?
Obviously his opponents haven`t been too testing so far but he`s looked pretty sharp and spiteful.
Huge fight for the West Country if it happened

Really not sure about Langford above Blackwell just yet, based upon what ?
Blackwell`s definitely underrated though.

“For some reason Khomitsky isn’t fighting me. It’s nothing to do with my part anyway,” Cox told Livefight.

“I’m pursuing things and I’ll get my chance soon hopefully. I’m still fighting on the 26th and I’m just waiting to hear who I’m fighting now".

http://www.livefight.com/news.php?news_ ... =2015&m=09

Seems we may have known the fight wasn't happening before Cox. I heard a rumour weeks ago Sam Soliman was negotiating with Khomitsky, and heard only days ago negotiations are continuing.

Three weeks to go and Cox doesn't know his opponent. No ranked fighter takes a fight at three weeks notice. So it's another knock over job for Cox.

Correct - at least Cox has had the opportunity of working towards this date to fight so can get his fitness, weight and preparations right. The bloke he ends up fighting probably doesn't even know yet !

And probably doesn't care when he's sat in Ghana, skint, and someone offers him £5,000 to get a good hiding.

Supposedly negotiating with Mariano Hilario, former Spanish and EU champion, lost to Mohoumadi in his last fight for the European title.
