I will take the lack of response from the Cox camp to mean the fight was never signed then. Par for the course I suppose given current promoter.
Most promoters announce fights on them being agreed before the (usually) formality of contracts being signed, this goes for all promoters not just W-arren.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:I will take the lack of response from the Cox camp to mean the fight was never signed then. The proofs out there if you look, an high profiel example Gavin v Van Heerden. Fight announced tickets sold etc etc then Gavin pulled out for the Brooke fight and specifically said on twitter contracts weren't signed with Van Heerden just agreed.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:I wouldn't necessarily agree with that
William Shatner? aka TJ Hooker/ Captain Kirk? Why would anyone want to look at his "bassoons"?mexicooo wrote:In lay men's terms or even English please TerenceTerry Dooley wrote:Crucial question: What are his thoughts when it comes to Shatner’s Bassoons. I feel the majority don't know what or even who shatner blossoms are
I hope he gets back in with a good test soon - has Michael Grant retired? That was a good amateur bout, Grant v Cox.Talkischeap wrote:Spot on Anzi
I think I remember Jamie was stopping everyone on the way to the final and it looked like Amir Khan pulled out of the ABA's because Cox and Grant looked hard bouts, he'd been dropped and hurt by Craig Watson and scraped through. Grant was class, I hope Jamie can get some momentum going - Khan has done incredible since then.Talkischeap wrote:I don't know what Michael Grant is doing now but yes it was a cracking bout Jamie was only 17years old.

in any case it is not like the rest of us have not had a "domestic" at some stage, I don't know why some people are getting so exited.
No one's mentioned it and that would be some scrap alright.Deserter wrote:Apologies in advance if someone has already mentioned this, as I haven't got the inclination to look back over every post to date, but should Cox get a couple of decent wins under his belt, surely a West Country 'derby' between Cox and Blackwell would be a cracking fight? Swindon vs Trowbridge and the amateur star who can bang versus the unheralded guy who came through the unlicensed ranks and seems like a bit of a tank? Could take place at Middle or Super-Middle I imagine?
Well, I haven't.
I brought this up a few weeks ago as I`m from Bristol and know them both a little bit.palooka wrote:No one's mentioned it and that would be some scrap alright.Deserter wrote:Apologies in advance if someone has already mentioned this, as I haven't got the inclination to look back over every post to date, but should Cox get a couple of decent wins under his belt, surely a West Country 'derby' between Cox and Blackwell would be a cracking fight? Really not sure about Langford above Blackwell just yet, based upon what ?griggy wrote:Tommy Langford vs either massive fight aswell westcountry lad, I think Cox and Langford are both above Blackwell
Potentially yes,but Blackwell`s proved himself to an extent and Tommy still has those tests to come.griggy wrote:he hasn't boxed the level of opponent Blackwell has yet but I think skill and ability wise he is by far
yes that's what I meant, we are yet to know how far tommy can gorpms wrote:Potentially yes,but Blackwell`s proved himself to an extent and Tommy still has those tests to come.griggy wrote:he hasn't boxed the level of opponent Blackwell has yet but I think skill and ability wise he is by far
Correct - at least Cox has had the opportunity of working towards this date to fight so can get his fitness, weight and preparations right. The bloke he ends up fighting probably doesn't even know yet !Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Three weeks to go and Cox doesn't know his opponent. No ranked fighter takes a fight at three weeks notice. So it's another knock over job for Cox.
And probably doesn't care when he's sat in Ghana, skint, and someone offers him £5,000 to get a good hiding.bripez wrote:Correct - at least Cox has had the opportunity of working towards this date to fight so can get his fitness, weight and preparations right. Supposedly negotiating with Mariano Hilario, former Spanish and EU champion, lost to Mohoumadi in his last fight for the European title.mickey1975 wrote:And probably doesn't care when he's sat in Ghana, skint, and someone offers him £5,000 to get a good hiding.bripez wrote:Correct - at least Cox has had the opportunity of working towards this date to fight so can get his fitness, weight and preparations right.
