Mundine at the scene of the crime and looking keen for a fight >>>
Seems odd there hasn't been a presser to announce the fight. Even the promoter is tweeting details.

Another wasted year and more bad management just like the Clottey[inactive] fight its a no win situation, win and you beat someone that isn't even in Canelos/Lara/Cotto/Trout/Andrade thought's lose and your finished big step backwards in my view very disappointing opponent I was thinking a bigger fight than this

never heard of the bloke.

His management have always had a better eye for easy money fights than matchmaking that would progress the guy up the ranks and might have allowed him to leave behind a legacy.

I agree. But it is no worse than Khoder Nasser and George Reno used to dish up.

Apologies in the delay in throwing my two cents in, but I had no idea who Hatley was and had to look him up (sums up a typical Mundine opponent).
From my view Hatley looks raw and this is his step up fight as it looks like he has exclusively fought journeymen. However one name jumps out on me on his record whom he face a few years ago, Jose Flores who fought for the WBA Welterweight title back in 2001 (that is not a typo, 2001)!! and Flores got mullered against Vargas in that fight.
Very weak match making and just shows Team Mundines ambition to get another shot at a REAL world title. This match making has convinced me that Mundine will never fight for a IBF/WBO/WBA/WBC world title again. In actual fact I am willing to bet my house in London that Mundine will never ever fight for a big 4 world title again, those days are over.
All this is saying to me is that Team Mundine is just readying his golden handshake pay off fight against Green.

Hard to disagree with you there. Mundine's management always seem to have had a preference for easy money fights and his ability to pull a crowd and sell PPV has enabled them to get away with it throughout his prime years. Not the sort of stuff that enables a fighter to leave behind the legacy he might otherwise have though.

In order to keep talk of a Mundine vs Green rematch from dominating every Mundine and Green thread - like it did the Pitt calling out Green thread - I have created a dedicated Mundine vs Green rematch thread.
Let's see if we can keep this thread on track discussing Mundine vs Hartley and the undercard fights on the card

Holding pattern fight. Not sure what he's waiting for though?

Mundine was in negotiations with Cotto but Geale got the fight
Mundine had a fight offered to him from Lara but required a short preperation
Hardly bad management just unlucky & bad timing. The easier option would have been taken waiting to see what eventuates with the 154 title if Floyd retires. Mundine will push for a title shot if the WBC strip Floyd or he retires.
If Mundine happens to lose the fight a backup plan would be Dennis Hogan if he happens to beat JacK Culcay for the Interim WBA

For those who don't know who Hatley is and I think it is fair to say that is nearly everyone. Here is an intro to Charles "The Future" Hatley:

November 11th is an auspicious day in Australian history: Ned Kelly was hung and Gough Whitlam was sacked as Prime Minister.
Will Mundine make it a trifecta and be done over by a Yank, who has never fought before outside his country?

Nov 11th is also Remembrance Day, the day we remember members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty. It sits alongside ANZAC day as one of our most important days of reflections of war.

He couldn't get someone ranked higher than 19th. Look this fight isn't terrible after a year off but it hardly moves him closer to a title shot. Anthony has to know if he doesn't want to have another fighters management to have options on his fights if he wins(the reason he said he didn't take the Andrade title fight)then he has to earn a mandatory.
Fighting someone ranked 19 while your ranked 4 is not the way to do it. He's 40 the clocks ticking.

Or well its just fu..ing great management..........at 40 years of age he needs to fight a bloke who when he leaves his street no-one has a clue who he is HARDLY BAD MANAGEMENT...............

No sign of any press conference. Seems a bit odd. Particularly when word is already out on who is fighting.
Mundine's manager Ben Thompson's twitter still read "opponent to be announced" when I checked earlier today
Funny, because promoter Brian Amatruda named the opponent on twitter days ago.

Things got touch busy & bit out of control i.e.
1. Promoter Brian Amatruda & Team Mundine agreed to stage the show on Wednesday Oct 14 (usual Mundine Main Event) gig
2. Week or so ago Mundine & Thompson ventured to US to find & sign an opponent, which in the end being Hatley
3. During immediate above, promoter Amatruda was informed by Main Event it couldn't cover it on Oct 14 'cos the shop is closed during that week due to its annual conference.
4. Therefore, the whole frigging thing had to be reorganized & renegotiated
In the end it's a good result for Brian....he didn't have a great deal of hair to lose anyway

We probably should be thankful there's a fight at all hearing that.

Hatley being badly exposed and stopped inside of a round by journeyman Lanardo Tyner.
Coming into this fight Tyner had just one win in his previous 8 bouts.

Wonder if Sam Soliman vs Sergey Khomitsky is made yet??

Boxrec has Charles Hatley listed as orthodox.
http://boxrec.com/boxer/475912
But the fights I've been watching he is a southpaw. As an example, I just watched most of Hatley's fight against Gutierrez from a year ago and he fights southpaw throughout and wins.

Where does the information contained in Boxrec as to what stance a fighter adopts come from? Is it provided by the fighter's management?
Reason I ask is, in all the fight footage I've seem 'thus far of Hatley he is a southpaw. Yet in Boxrec he is listed as an orthodox fighter.

Checked profile edits & Orthodox stance was inserted yonks ago & hadn't been changed since. As to who provided that info is unknown. Maybe the author was in attendance of a fight & he fought Orthodox on that occasion? Maybe he's generally Pawpaw but no-one bothered, including his trainer & he to correct Boxrec
Depending on the card, I may subscribe to Main Event & focus on it. If not, you can do it for me
