Re-watched it the other night and I have to agree really. I thought otherwise before but I do think Groves was up at the time of the stoppage. He was certainly landing his jab more often and with more authority. The commentary is weird. They have Froch winning the first and I think it's Groves. I think they give Groves the second and I think it's Froch. George lands some good punches which push Carl back but he doesn't seem bothered. Carl jumps in with flurries of bodyshots which clearly land. When they show replay for some reason they show the ones George blocks rather than the ones that land. It's a strange broadcast.

It didn't matter anyway. Judges weren't needed.

I think since leaving Adam Booth, his mental edge has dipped badly, against Froch he wasn't the same sort of boxer as he was when he was fighting and defending the commonwealth title.

I just think he was a much better boxer before where as now he seems to be going for a finish early instead of looking at outworking and lasting his opponents over the full fight, I'll admit everyone loves to see a KO win, the boxer has it on their record, the promoter has a guy who knocked out his last opponent but against world champion level boxers, this knock out mentality cant work all the time.

Booth kept him in line and training well and his opponents weren't over matched for him too soon, beating:
Dennis Douglin - all due respect given to him, he hasn't fought to the same level as Groves and his only 12 round fight was against groves
Christopher rebrasse - a European champion and arguably around European level currently

Will not get Groves ready for a world title fight in any way and do not prepare him mentally for the challenge of a world level fight.

People posting the same thing about how George has regressed without Booth. Not a single solution has been posted on here. Gary Logan said they both won't be getting back together. Now with Booths recent comments saying if Eubank Jr was to fight Groves it'll be just another fighter in the other corner. Groves also has said that Booth lost his trust with him. Tt's clear they have both moved on. What is a viable solution? I'd like for him to work with an attack minded coach who can improve his hand speed and footwork. Maybe lighten his management duties too, thats a killer. Too much going on mentally when you're running around getting sponsors, looking out for fighters (Garvey Kelly and Luke Watkins) etc.
