Since all ABC titles are laughingly insignificant piles of steaming poo, the true undisputed world champion is the one who the majority of boxing fans believe is the best in a particular weight class. Klitschko is heavyweight champion. Glowacki is cruiserweight champion. Kovalev is light heavyweight champion. Golovkin is middleweight champion. Mayweather is welterweight champion. Figueroa is lightweight champion. No one really cares about the rest.

Problem solved. Next.

One of the few time I 100% agree with Cap.
I could care less about the worthless alphabet boys. They are destroying the sport.

I would call Wlad, Ward, Uchiyama, Inoue, Gonzalez and Yamanaka undisputed, insofar as I don't believe their is any doubt that they are the champions of their respective divisions. I would call Garcia champ at 140 but he's moved up, same for Canelo at 154. Floyd obviously at 147 but he's officially retired.

I think that's about as far as you can get nowadays, with a whole bunch of belts floating around in each division and no real hope of having them all unified.

This is the kind of sanity we need in boxing.

No. Didn't you get the memo? Glowacki beat Huck who was the people's champion. That makes him the new champion of the cruiserweights until someone beats him.

Grigory Drozd would like a word with you.

Are you being serious?

Huck was not accepted as the best in the division, in fact I'm guessing if I started a thread a year back asking who was the best cruiser weight champion out of Y P Hernandez, Lebedev, Huck or Drozd, there would have been a number of different opinions.
Glowacki was losing and had been down against Huck and scored a stoppage. I'd be interested to see the result of a rematch to see whether Glowacki is even better than Huck let alone the other names mentioned in this thread, who he has not yet faced.

The cruiser weight division is probably as far from having an outright claim to being undisputed champion as any.

Most of those guys are old and useless, time to retire, and Dross is a Russian who lost to Firat Arslan, or whatever his name is. No, sorry chaps. Glowacki is champion until someone beats him.

That's it make your own rule's and you can pick the undisputed champ's that'll be just great it's undisputed when you hold the WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF
this is the problem when people start making their own rule's :shame:

Wow!! How on earth did they let "Dross" keep on fighting after losing a fight? Can we start a petition to over turn his 15 wins since losing once ten years ago? I'm sure Wlodarczyk will be happy to get his WBC belt back!

Well Dross got knocked out by Firat Arslan who lost twice to Huck who lost to Glowacki making the unbeaten Glowacki the nearly logical champion until he gets beat by Dross or someone else....

'nuff said.

*Drozd. I suppose I can't blame you for not knowing his name, since you don't seem to actually watch cruiserweight fights.

Oh FFS! The WBA set to have 2 Interim champs: who then unify!?!?!
I rest my case. My case... is f*cking rested.

It's barely possible to be an Undisputed Champion anymore these days. Because one sanctioning body or another will strip you for some reason they'll think of.

So with the sanctioning body BS in mind. Fighters I would consider clear cut Undisputed Champions are...

Wladimir Klitschko (Heavyweight)
Andre Ward (Super Middleweight)
Guillermo Rigondeaux (Jr. Featherweight)

That's about it. There are other Lineal Champions, but these are the only 3 guys that I think are unquestionably THE GUY in their respective divisions.

I think the undisputed days are over with the different factions not working w/one another. I like the idea of the lineal championship.

bernard hopkins, antonio tarver, etc, were all #1 in their divison defending that IBO title, they had no knowledge of
boxing either. then there are bum HOFers like sergio martinez and tommy hearns who also had no boxing knowledge
who held the IBO, any many other IBO winners who also won titles from the other 4 like naseem hamed, danny green,
glen johnson, jean pascal, vic darchinyan, etc. none had any boxing knowledge at all.

GUESS WHAT THE IBO WORLD CHAMP'S CAN DO NOW FIGHT 10 ROUND WORLD TITLE FIGHT'S :witzend: :shame:

Ward ??? CURRENT undisputed champion ? He hasn't beaten ANY of other current SMW champions and hasn't even defended his belt for 2+ years. His old version would certainly be capable to beat all other current champions, but just being able doesn't cut the mustard -- you need to actually do it to become undisputed.

Besides, Ward's matching lately tells me that there is something wrong with him, and he is far from his old self from 4 years ago.
