His jab also looked excellent and he used it more than usual.
Lemieux showed heart and a good chin but I think he fought the wrong fight....not that he would've come close to winning anyway.
The Monroe fight I thought GGG was just playing with him, he was getting hit , but seemed like he just wanted to engage and make right exciting. GGG can box and show defense when he wants.
Yes, I think that may be the case. He was more cautious tonight and I think he looked like a more complete fighter.

I thought Willie Monroe showed quite a bit of skill against Golovkin , not that he was going to beat him buti think hit Golovkin more than Lemieux did .
Looking forward to seeing Monroe fight again , Monroe vs Lemieux ? Some good fights at 160 .

this was a moral victory for lemx.
he got in there, took GGG's best, landed some decent shots
of his own and momentarily slowed GGG down with that one left hook
on the chin, and he can argue the ref stopped it early. he fought a killer
on ppv and didn't get completely wrecked over 8 rounds, lives to fight
another day. maybe he gets another few premium cable tv fights agsint
middleweight contenders, or maybe abraham, jack, or degale might fight
him after a few cherry picked wins at 168.
this fight could have been a career ender, but his career may be better
off after it even without the title. what puts you in the boxing consciousness
is fighting the best in big fights, and he is a higher profile fighter now.

I would love to see 3G v Lee. Lee's length and power make him more dangerous than Lemieux although Andy will not likely last as long as the Canadian did.
3G's jab was the story from the start. People are criticizing Lemieux's game plan but the combination of that jab and Lemieux''s lack of length nullified any game plan. Lee would be harder to control with the jab.
I am surprised that there hasn't been more discussion about 3G nailing Lemieux on a knee. It was too late.
Lemieux collected fans tonight.

Cotto, Canelo, Lee or anyone else at 160 for that matter won't stand a chance against a juggernaut like GGG, his power is off the charts.

..it's either GGG being that strong or his opponent just an average boxer, anyway Lemieux was gradually taken apart and I thought of the whole thing as being a mismatch...

GGG is this good. I am grateful I get to see this boxer in my life time.
