Gonzalez-Inoue would actually give me a bigger hardon than Ward-GGG I've got the full 9" for G-I

Just watched both, both men had amazing performances.

GGG does seem to have it all - timing, accuracy, patience, footwork, power, his jab was incredible, a proper offensive weapon which stung Lemeiux and robbed him of ambition - above all a great boxing brain, and fantastic concentration. It's hard to see anyone beating him. Cotto will perhaps push him, but he would get busted up, Canelo doesn't have the technical skills to compete with him, and could no way go toe to toe and hope to win.

Gonzales too, a masterclass, actually very similar in approach to GGG, but with better combination punching and handspeed.

Two wonderful fighters, and surely both of them can go on to become big stars, nobody who bought that PPV would have been dissapointed.

Definitely not Saunders. Hes gone on record saying he thinks GGG beats him and he wouldn't take the fight.

I haven't seen much of Gonzalez - will have to check him out on YouTube.

Are there any particular fights to look out for?
As people said, Saturday's performance was Da Bomb, as ver kidz say.

Highlights/technique fapping thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rq8iKZ ... e=youtu.be

Vs lineal flyweight champ & former strawweight boss Akira Yaegashi (who was on a fantastic run of form himself going in): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nTiT4tNRXc

Versus former strawweight champ & current light-fly titlist Francisco Rodriguez Jr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onZFPCaT6NY

Versus Juan Francisco Estrada, who currently holds the rest of the belts at flyweight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCyhK5jopJQ

Versus former champ Ramon Garcia Hirales: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xqgs6p ... ales_sport

At one point, four fighters he'd already beaten held world titles in various divisions.

aye, (1) I think GGG would bust Cotto up pretty quickly, because his jab is that bit longer/maybe better. without being able to use the jab to maintain some kind of boxing match as opposed to a semi-firefight I think Cotto would get punched into disorganisation and then disorientation pretty quickly, as it happens; no slight on Cotto, he's just an old guy a weight too high and the true elite guys were always one step ahead of him anyway. anyways long and the short of it I don't think Cotto could even, really, 'push' GGG much.

(2) yes GGG and Gonzalez are actually pretty similar in approach, strangley for fighters so far apart in weight. the patience, the offensive variety, the ability to throw power shots and combinations and stay on-balance, the way they cut the ring off

one thing i pondered last night on watching them both again, I am pretty sure, watch any fight involving either man (and Macklin alluded to this), and its guaranteed, their opponent ALWAYS ends up using more energy to traverse the ring and buy time between 'exchanges' (ha!), than they expend. i guess that shows both killer ring generalship, but also i think quite significantly the level to which both men are able to intimidate their opponents.

bruv, its got the the point where if someone mentions Gonzo Porn, I immediately think 'yeah, I think I'll watch the Estrada fight, then, probably Yaegashi, then Sosa for sh1ts and giggles like'

Yesterday he tweeted that he would never turn down a fight with anyone. Also said Golovkin was the best he'd seen.

Excellent display from GGG. He's going to be very difficult to beat. I'm not sure anyone at middleweight can even be competitive with him.

In time, probably after he's beaten Canelo/Cotto (if the fight happens), I think he'll have to move up in weight. A fight against Ward would be a great spectacle and the ultimate test for GGG as I think he'd have to combine being a great technical boxer with being a slugger to win that one. I'd make that a 50-50 fight currently with the slight preference for an ugly Ward win on points.

Other options are to go up to light heavyweight and fight the likes of Kovalev, Stevenson and Beterbiev all of which would be a very big ask. Perhaps those are fights that could be made at a catchweight of something like 172lbs.

Moving down to 154lbs seems a bit pointless unless GGG can get a fight with Mayweather which seems highly unlikely.

Yes, ever since the terrible pasting he took in the Margarito fight, Cotto marks up very quickly, and often looks a mess even in fights he is winning.

Both fighters have excellent footwork, and economy of movement - and they also exert pressure with the front foot, without even throwing punches. They drive their opponents round the ring, by holding ring centre, and dictating the action, it's really quite masterful.

Both men also hurt with pretty much everything they throw, watching GGG was quite uncomfortable at times, it was like a kid picking the legs off a fly, he just gradually beat Lemiuex down and was always totally in control. You suspect he could have ended the fight a lot earlier, but he wanted to make sure he didn't take chances against a power puncher.

I think Cotto has the skills to push GGG for a few rounds, but he's not going to be physically strong enough, nor hit hard enough to keep GGG honest for long. I think Cotto is better technically than anyone GGG has faced to date, but as you say, he is too small, and a little over the hill, and was never as good as GGG is overall, certainly not at that weight.

I hope Canelo wins, I don't really want to see Cotto get battered like that -though I have serious doubts the fight would happen anyway.

Not only can he, and does he, throw and land with literally every punch in the book with either hand, and seems to do so in every fight, but more to the point I think he actually hurts his opponents with every punch in the book with either hand. Freakish. Glad I've been aboard the hypetrain for a couple of years at least.
He reminds me of Julio Cesar Chavez at light weight and for me that's very high praise
Yes mate that's the comparison that came to mind when I first really started.appreciating how.good he is.

FWIW I think, 1, he actually is in a couple of ways technically more rounded even than JCC because 1A I think p4p he hits harder and 1B I think he's got a better more versatile right hand, and I say that as someone with a massive manlove semi for Chavez.

I also thought of Chavez with his performance. So cool headed, unflustered and spiteful. I believe P4P he hits harder. One of the weirdest things about GGG is that he looks so NOT intimidating with his baby face. Put some glasses on him and he looks like the school nerd or an IT guy....
