Normal guy? Not so sure pal, don't get me wrong I've been in a bit of bother in my time so can't really judge but (if the report is correct) waiting for someone to be down then throwing a bottle at them and doing all this in front of your own kids is bang out of order.

Bet his mate got bird too pisses my off how people in the public eye often get softer sentences.........bang on me or any of my mates would have got 12-18months easily for that.

Having said that I've met Frankie and he was sound, plus these reports can often be far from the truth. Take the prosecution spin add a bit of journalist exageration.

He's a professional athlete not a 'fighter'. There have been a lot of reports of him being unprofessional over the last few years so i don't see a problem with people pointing these things out. It happens to all high profile boxers.

This could have potentially ended his career.

Anybody who says Frankie is a tw@t for doing what he did is entitled to that opinion, and in fact it seems to be the consensus opinion.

Still lucky in my view lot few of my mates had a row (less serious than this sounds) got told to plead guilty to affray for lesser sentences but still got 6-15 months

True mate. Frankie Gavin is a bellend, I've said that from early days whenhe was with Farnell and he came on here, nothing he has said or done since then has changed my view on him. He obviously mixes with a bad crowd who appear to have held him back massively over the years, both career-wise and personally, but we've all got choices at the end of the day.

He's a very lucky boy, could have easily got some time for that offence and in a stricter country he'd be looking at a 2-3 year stretch easily.

Making threats to a boxer that you're not prepared to back up is a totally different thing - but nobody has done that once on this thread.

In my opinion Frankie's clearly not a very nice bloke and dull as dishwater in the ring. If me saying that online makes me a keyboard warrior then that's exactly what I am.

So I'm officially calling out Frankie for a straightener (just in cyberspace and not in real life).

Having seen Frankie's literacy skills I'm predicting a one sided KO for me!

I have to say, beign known (in his sport) I bet (like many) he does get grief. I wouldn't say I'm a fan of his, but who's to say some piised up chavs were giving it to him because of who he is, and it was them who instigated it? Boxers are a tough breed, and 90% would not react like an actor or football player if they were in the same situation. If you abuse a boxer, you will defly get a clump unless he's mega loaded and has to much to lose. Most fighters aren't.

I would bet hardly anyone outside Birmingham or boxing has a clue who Frankie Gavin is, mate.

I didn't really wanna comment on it.. As I am ashamed of what happened but not once did I pick up a stool so tht was a lie an I never smashed a glass an threw it. I saw my mate surrounded so I helped him an instantly regretted some of the thing what went on an My missus an children were in a taxi cause we were just leaving... If I did what the mail said I would be in prison no ifs or buts.. An the title says in trouble again like I'm a criminal I have been arrested once when i was a teenager not once since I'm 30 now
