Its not worthy of ppv but I really want to see this card especially Joshua and Bellotti as there both from my home town. I dont have one of those box things nor do I want to watch it on a dodgy stream so I'm left with the options of going to the pub like I do normally for ppv or watch it at home with a few beers. If I go to the pub you cant be certain they will show the undercard in full or will get a good view and I will spend a lot more than £17 in beer so unfortunately I have decieded I wil pay it

this is exactly my point. I might buy it because it's OKish.
What the eff man? you used to get OKish bills on bog standard Sky, christ you occasionally get OKish bills on Eurosport.
In fact standard Sky sports sometimes provides goodish bills and even occasionally great bills without it being PPV.
The very fact that this isn't anywhere near great is the reason the show shouldn't be PPV
A ppv should have main event that is top level. Bellew vs Cleverly and Joshua vs Whyte are a million miles from being ppv headline material.
Not only is there no world title on the line, neither man has proven himself to be world class yet and I strongly suspect Whyte never ever will. It's not top level and it's a mismatch IMHO
As for saying, "well the undercard is OK even if there are some mismatches on it"
Get fucked. I want a good undercard. I want good fighter featured but I also demand competitive match ups. That really is not too much to ask... is it?
Don't get me wrong, there are a couple fights I wouldn't mind seeing. But a British title, a European title and one of 87 WBA Interim world titles just isn't good enough.
If anyone pays for this they're an arse and they're effing boxing!
Alright. Calm down, dear. You'll give yourself a stroke keep getting upset like that.
I wasn't disagreeing that it shouldn't be PPV. More saying that I consider PPVs more when there is an undercard that I also want to watch. This one I was undecided,
because it's okay and not great.

I considered watching it in a pub. Like you say, I'll spend more than £17 in the pub. Probably double that at least. But, at least that way I'll be giving my money to somebody who isn't Eddie, and am combining it with a night out.
It is true that the more we pay for this kind of thing, the more they'll keep showing it. That night the Kell Brook fight clashed with Spike TV's first ever freeview card, I watched the stuff on freeview rather than the PPV to reward the company showing free boxing.
Sadly, I had to watch Fish, Chips And Scraps, which was the biggest tragedy to ever befall sporting analysis. But hey. At least I didn't pay for it.

I do not think this has ever happened. No it is not worth PPV and I find it insulting to fans.
Groves-Degale was a PPV wasn't it?
Joke of a PPV for sure though. They'll be having none of my oney. Undercard nothing special at all.
This card is a decent Friday/Saturday Fight Night card which used to be on Sky Sports 1.

Eubank vs O'Sullivan and Bellew vs Masternak are decent fights I guess.
But nothing to set the world alight thats for sure.

Mitchell Barrosso not to be slept on either IMO. The Groves DeGale undercard was crap if memory serves

Yeah, although wasn't it supposed to be a co-main event (or even chief support?) with the Cleverly-Braemer fight before it fell through?

I'd wager Barrosso is not much cop. He could be decent or he could be awful - he's fought absolutely no-one of note.

Thanks, very interesting. If PPV were to launch today, it would DEFINITELY fail. Bruno Tyson 2 was 1996, before the internet was in every home and certainly before high speed broadband. Also, the majority of Bruno's fights had been live on BBC. I've seen clips of Des Lynam talking about a new knockout merchant from South London under the guidance of Terry Lawless very early on in his career.

Groves vs DeGale 1 - but at least DeGale had proven himself British title level at that stage.

Joshua 1/16 - Whyte 8/1
Eubank Jr 1/8 - Spike 5/1
Bellew 1/5 - Masternak 7/2
Mitchell 3/10 - Barroso 5/2
Warrington 1/33 - Sanchez 10/1
Campbell 1/33 - Mendy 10/1
Malignaggi 1/16 - Moscatiello 8/1
MJ Ward 1/50 - Gonzalez 12/1
£10 8-fold would get you a profit of £11.45 if all the favourites won.
Great PPV

Imagine Sky trying to tell football fans that a tournament consisting of Norwich vs Albion Rovers; Aston Villa vs Droylsden and Everton vs Stevenage was "unmissable" they would get slaughtered, but they cant serve up utter non contests like that where even the ridiculously short priced favorites are just run of the mill fighters and expect folk to swallow it. Utter joke.

The gate receipts should comfortably be able to cover the fighters purses. i don't understand how people fall for it, they must just have too much money to waste.
