I'm not sure I could listen to the John fury stuff again about Joshua not being a real man and being given everything on a plate whilst Hughie has been hard done by blah blah blah though

One thing we've seen, is that the only person to be able to live with Joshua for a while, was someone who could hit him hard enough to get his respect and stop the marching onslaught. I'm not sure Hughie fits that mould.
True, I think if AJ is moving up a level now though, or just wants to put himself in the world-frame, then someone like Hughie puts him more in that conversation than I dunno, some Eastern European no-mark. Not that they're the only options of course.
Like I said, maybe a good move for AJ, but really can't see it making sense for Hughie, not the kind of fight he needs right now.

He needs Chisora to be seen as a dangerous world class heavyweight so that Fury's win in the rematch seems more than it was.

At this point i think Chisora is shot and a lesser challenge than Whyte.

We'll see though, i like Del Boy, would like to see him roll back the clock.

Yeah, but seems unlikely.

I get the feeling the smackdown against Haye destroyed him, I'm not sure if it's physically, certainly his punch resistance doesn't seem what it was, or mentally, or both. He probably didn't think anyone could stop him like that.

Haye cracked his chin and psyche. He's looked vulnerable ever since. His face first, mauling, wide swinging attack is tailor-made for Joshua. In his day he would have been Joshua's toughest test. In the reality of today, he is ripe for the TV-friendly blowout. We're in a bargain basement version of Cooney/Lyle and Norton here.

Yes, I envisage a replay of the Haye Chisora fight, with Joshua blasting him out of there.

A static target, with a low output is going to be target practice for Joshua. White did well in sports by stealing Joshua's jab when he closed the distance. Chisora couldn't steal a wallet from a corpse.

I agree Whytes chin will be dented by Saturday night just like Chisora's was after Haye smashed it. You rarely see guys like Whyte take that kind of punishment and then come back with the same appetite to take it again.

AJ-Chisora looks likely and I'd fancy AJ to get him out of there inside of a round, unless he specifically goes out there to box and go rounds. This Chisora offers less offensively than Whyte does and would get destroyed.

I think Whyte would knock Chisora out now. As plenty have said, his punch resistance has gone since Haye smashed him. He has looked wobbly against a couple of scrubs since then.

I think if they make that fight, they should schedule another very soon after, can't see much being learned from that fight.

i think chisora is a step down from whyte. AJ needs the australian, Lucas 'big daddy' Browne next. a limited but unbeaten big puncher, it would be a much better name on his resume that beating a seemingly washed up chisora, chisora has not been the same since haye rinsed him.

I agree. Chisora a few years ago would have provided the same sort of test as Whyte, but not now. I think it will be a 2-3 round job.

Yeah, browne would be a good call. Easy sell for Eddie too, two big unbeaten, big punching heavyweights.

Chisora is much better than Browne.

I disagree, Chisora unless he's found something inside himself, seems to have little or nothing to offer.

He was never that good to begin with, he was just durable and steady, now that he doesn't seem to durable any more, he's just a big slow, lumbering apeth who can't get out of the way of shots.

And Browne is amazing is he?

No, but he at least has some ambition, and is a puncher, Chisora was never a big puncher really, and seems to have none.

I'd rather an unbeaten hungry fighter in there, than a washed-up fighter who enters the ring defeated.

Gary Cornish was undefeated and hungry as well. Being undefeated means very little.

Chisora is a better fighter.

To be fair to chisora , he's made lots of money off of the back of being tough and rugged with very limited resources , but his best days are definitely behind him and it's a pretty pointless fight for Joshua.

No excuses? You'd think not but he was interviewed by Kugan after the fight and said he'd injured his right shoulder so badly in the first round his corner wanted to pull him out! Didnt see any evidence of this myself in following rounds but according to Whyte thats what lost him the fight.

he's posted a photo on social media, post shoulder op. There were rumours before the fight he was carrying a shoulder injury though.

That's one of the reasons I was very confident Joshua would win. If whyte was injured he was always going to fight. He's got so many kids/bills.

Who do you people think Joshua is?

Joshua is a novice who has just struggled with an unproven domestic fighter. Chisora is in no way a waste of time.

If Chisora is a waste of time, then there are only about 5 fighters in the world that are worthy of Joshua's precious time.

Chisora is a great choice of a first defence of the British title. AJ has to fight someone in England and Chisora is an ideal candidate. A quick win for AJ will move him onto another defence and hopefully to something bigger by the end of next year.

Was Dillian injured before the fight or did he do it throwing those overarm punches at the end of the first that nearly took Howard Foster out?
