Bob Mirovic has made an amazing contribution to Aussie boxing over such a long period. Winning along the way state, WBF and the national title on numerous occasions. Plus challenging for OPBF and Commonwealth titles on numerous occasions as well. But him going on at 50 is not a great idea.

Bob Mirovic hunts fourth Australian boxing title at the age of 50

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslo ... d7e2cf3203

Bob Mirovic, who has sparred with the likes of Jeff “Hit Man” Harding and Mike Tyson, is determined to etch his name in history by becoming the first boxer to win four Australian heavyweight titles — and at the ripe old age of 50.

Bob needs to be sectioned. Send in the men in the "white coats"!

Well the inevitable happened and Bob lost on points in an unanimous decision over four rounds.

Bob should again hang them up, this time for good as he was knocked down the fourth round.

Sure... You want the chap to end up a drooling vegetable? His last few fights apart from the two wins against weak opposition showed his punch resistance had deserted him...

Gday!
...."apart from the two wins"......i reckon your words have convicted you Mao...bobs still got plenty of spunk...he"s just less jason and kylie (sprightly) these days...fair dinkum...but get to 50 as a fighter and your not allowed to have an off night...its always put down to old age by dunny rats who never stepped in a ring.

Bobs brain is fine.all that 4x over the years has kept it nice and fluid

Big Bob going again:

Image

Mirovic is 50 and 31-23-2.

Izonritei is 41. Hasn't fought for over 10 years and is 11-5.

The pair previously met 14 years ago, when Izonritei unsuccessfully challenged for Mirovic's Australian title.

Oh dear, zimmerframes at 10 paces!

The sponsor's names say it all: the bout is a facade and yet again fighter safety needs to be inplace due to both men's age and inactivity.

Big Bob's got this, one to go out on. Hopefully, after this, Rodg stays more active.

Why does the boxrec data base claim Roger isn't in the network when I search him, FFS, I know I can get to him by searching for one if his apponents. This has happened with quite a few names I've tried to search up.

I find the best way to search Boxrec is using Google.

If you type Boxrec Roger Izonritei directly into Google you get this:

You're doing something wrong. Insert country & his name http://boxrec.com/people?role=boxer
If a boxer has been inactive for 12 plus months "all " is the go

Great tip, I often do this without thinking about it, that's how I'll do it from now on, avoid all the frigging ads, I even have the screen diverted, boxrec dumped and I have to shut the Internet down and start again with some of the more aggressive ads.

Sounds like you need to increase RAM capability. You can buy it online from this mob http://www.upgradeable.com.au/ddr2

Not sure if Big Bob's fight is on tomorrow night or not? It isn't listed in Boxrec.

Big Bob did have a fight on October 7th. Fought Roger Izonritei in Perth - as per the earlier fight poster. Lost on a split decision.

Quite amazing pickup by the Cutman about Roger the Bell Dodger.

Even after 10 years inactivity, Roger was still too good for Big Bob, who seems to need more than a MRI to get him to hang 'em up.
