It kinda makes your point anyway Davie, he's better (and true to himself) when he does the funny tongue in cheek stuff with a wink, than trying to be the screen bully and Hardman.

Heavyweight boxing is on the rise since boring Wlad was dethroned I Hope Fury slams the door shut on Wlad for good.

Re: Fury's callout of Wilder in mid ring
Fury was absolutely hammered.
Apparently he'd been at a function and helped himself to a lot of vodka.
He also managed to try and start a fight with Froch at some point apparently.
Even though it was a bit cringey we all love a heavyweight who goes off the rails.
I thought Wilder handled him well though and his actions after the knockout showed his class.

Re: Fury's callout of Wilder in mid ring
So...we saw Haye beat someone who probably shouldn't have been allowed in the ring, Wilder struggle with a guy he was meant to cruise past and the IBF crown a champion after a guy screws up his own knee...and now heavyweight boxing is back...
..also...I really don't get the baptize line, surely baptizing a Christian isn't a threat or an insult, if Fury was a Jew would Wilder have been threatening to hack off his fore skin or something? If so would that have been "sonning" him too?...

Re: Fury's callout of Wilder in mid ring
The fight showed me one thing..... if Arthur was Fury's height.... Wilder wouldn't have been able to do a damn thing with him. Matter of fact, the head movement and ring generalship the Pole showed in that contest, showed me all the more just how unlikely it would be for Wilder to land and do much of anything with Tyson Fury. The Pole, in my view, wasnt a top ten man but he showed the holes in the defenses of Wilder. Can you imagine? Fury as awkward, fast, switch hitter that he is.... not to mention, holy crap, Fury was easily much broader and taller than Wilder in that ring. I never realized just how much leaner, shorter he was in comparison to Tyson.

liked it too.verballistic wrote:This is great. Just what the HW division needs. Unfortunately we never saw this from Klitschko.
Can't believe nobody's posted the video of this yet. It's classic HW trash-talk that the HWs having been lacking for years:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL7h72NigqE
We should see lots more of this before they actually get around to fighting...
Check the 0:12 second point of the video...did Wilder call him Fairy or Fury? Hard to tell...

Wilder gets beaten by the first decent 'boxer' he faces, and Fury will be that man if they fight. That's if Povetkin hasn't relieved Deontay of his belt first.Badhusker wrote:Nightmare Roy wrote:They will never let him near Tyson, he'd absolutely clown Wilder.

I love Fury. The guy is bonkers.
The game needs characters like him.

His antics can seem a bit contrived, but it's all a bit of fun.
Goodness knows the heavyweight division needs someone with character who can actually back up the nonsense they spout.

You say this after Wlad/Fury was one of (if not the worst) "championship" fight in history.actjac wrote:BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Two very low skilled fighters making noise.
In my opinion, this is NOT what boxing needs.
They make tons of noise, hype everything up, and then throw 10 punches a round.
I'm gonna look for Porter/Thurman, you guys can wait around to watch these two bums.
You and 112 other people will look forward to Porter/Thurman while a Fury-Wilder match will be built up and promoted to a mega event that will be seen by millions.
Look at the hype of Mayweather and Pacquiao and what it produced....that was one of the phoniest scams in boxing history. At least Deontay and Tyson will be entertaining.
You say this after watching Wilder look worse than an amateur against soft competition.
Maybe we need to check your and "the millions" sense of entertainment.

Wilder is an awkward trash talker. He cannot best Fury in that department. Fury will own him all day long.
As for a fight, Wilder's only chance is landing a big bomb. I'd favor Fury in a fight as well.
Wilder has fought 3 B grade fighters in a row and struggled vs all of them.

On most levels Fury is a better fighter. Fury goes to the body, switches stances, better uppercut, and probably has a better jab. Not sure Fury would win because wilder has MAD POWER.
Both have good wind and are tough, but not sure Fury could take Wilder's best shot. Not many who could.

Porter and Thurman are your examples of excitement? Really? I think you just may like smaller guys. It's become so "In" to knock the HWs.

I'm talking about fighters looking professional. Most of these heavyweights make boxing fans look like idiots who'd watch anyone fight ...

Brilliant but tasteless and classless.
Re: Fury's callout of Wilder in mid ring
Don't get me wrong, I'll be watching Porter-Thurman and looking forward to it. My point was so many fans nowadays will refer to a lull in the action of say a Thurman fight as "good boxing," and just call all heavyweight fights "boring." I'd rather watch Fury or Wilder in a competitive fight though.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Yea buddy, been here since 2005 saying the same thing.Tony1244 wrote:BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Two very low skilled fighters making noise.

Even if he winds up holding those belts for a while, to me, he will always be not much more than:
"that guy who was once knocked out on his feet---- By his own uppercut!"
He will always be that random kid from childhood who sh*t his pants once while playing and never lived it down. For me he will, anyways.

Great name, but never a fan of his.

Indeed. But anything is possible in today's HW landscape, so I had to.
