I have seen his two fights with McGowan at my uncle's private collection in Spain and his fight with Chervet (2nd) which was the performance of the reigning EBU champions life... there should be something up there or somewhere - he was a long reigning champion though.

Why is jimmy Wilde always the automatic choice for number one fly? He record is impressive in terms of numbers and wins but the vast majority of his fights were domestic. He was surely the best fly in the world for a time but he lost fights - yes he was outweighed but it didn't stop other all time greats winning. If he was the greatest fly of all time he'd have beaten Herman.

Of course he was clearly a great great fighter but he's not the lock in number 1 fly.

I don't know that he's in my top 5.

Pete Herman was a bantamweight champion of the world. He outweigh the Mighty Atom about 10 pounds at least.

Great subject.... Love having Ricardo Lopez high on the list. I would add at least two more 108 pounders in Michael Carbajal (knocked out Arce and Humberto Gonzalez) and Humberto Gonzalez (beat Carbajal and Jung Koo Chang among others). Chocalito is probably already top 25! I prefer Donaire to Darchinyan. Jimmy Wilde is a legend. Pancho Villa a legend who died young. Canto an amazing slick boxer. Great historical division!
