Khan wont get the decision over in Las Vegas. Alvarez is slow and I think he's pretty over-rated. Amir Khan is fast and I think Alvarez will find it hard to land that big one. Khan's chin is a weird one. Sometimes he can take big shots in one fight and then get wobbled by a jab in another.

I think Amir Khan is cashing out. He knows that if he manages to last the full 12 rounds against Alvarez then the Kell Brook fight is in the bag and another opportunity to pick up a couple of million quid. Everything points to Alvarez points. So @ 6/1 I've put down a fair few quid on it.

Is Canelo over-rated? Im not saying he's second coming, but hes beaten the two fighters people say nobody will fight in Lara and Trout. Kirkland win was destructive. And Cotto, whos no mug and was on a decent 3 fight winning run, last time out. His only loss is against Floyd, and lets have it right Floyd fought Canelo because he knew the mexican was raw and saw clear flaws. I think that win will look better in time, and i think floyd knew it would too.

Khan will be a pretty light puncher at 155. I say 155, come first bell Khan is likely to be 160 with Canelo coming into ring around 175.

See this as a complete mismatch personally. Boxing is a funny old sport though

I think this is entirely winnable for Khan.

Obviously I respect Canelo as a fighter, but I've long failed to understand why he's held in quite such high regard. His fight resume shows having to go the distance against an ageing Ryan Rhodes, Matthew Hatton, and a shot-to-sh1t Shane Mosley.

You could hardly say he beat Cotto in his prime either.

Tough fight for Khan obviously, but one he can win.

And he looked very pedestrian against PBF, maybe speed and movement are his Achilles heel

That's why points Alvarez @ 6/1 is where the smart money is IMO.

It's a tough fight for Canelo I think. Khan is going to be RUNNING all night and Canelo just isn't fast enough to catch him. He doesn't really counter punch either and the times Khan got caught with punches and hurt were usually when he was throwing. The way to catch Khan is to counter punch as he throws his fast flurries and I don't think Canelo does that. Given Khans speed and his running tactics, I think he makes it to the end. Whether or not he gets the decision is another thing entirely.

i think we'll see Khan holding a lot. He did it against Collazo and he has Hunter in his corner whose other charge, Ward, is a master at it. He's putting on all that muscle for a reason and I think he'll look to try and bully Canelo in the clinch. Everybody's expecting him to be dancing away and potshot but he'll always get caught in the end. I think he'll be on Canelo's chest and it'll be a ugly fight with Khan winning.

You just get the feeling that Canelo will catch up with Khan at some point in the fight.

Is Khan any better than Lara? Lara is left handed, fast, tricky, slick etc and Canelo kept up with him for 12 and made it very close. Khan wont KO Canelo so he's going to need a very very clear decision. The more I think about it, the more unlikely it is. You have to forgive the Mayweather performance as Mayweather is in a different league to everyone else.

Yes, Floyd: Fast/ Khan: Fast doesn't = khan giving canelo the same problems. Floyds countering ability has always made his opponents much more hesitant to march forward than you would think, given their only chance to win is by applying pressure.

By contrast, few fighters have ever put pressure.on Khan WITHOUT it paying dividends: The major remaining question IMO is thus simply how much slower exactly are canelos feet and therefore how long exactly will it take for him to corner khan and make him fight/flap around/hold/etc.

I hope Khan wins he might get an IBF heavyweight ranking then.
