He is really difficult to pin down for an interview, though. I’ve grabbed him a handful of times and every experience has been a bit different. The longest I got with him was after Bute, I congratulated him on the win and doing his own DIY stuff, he seemed to like that and talked for 15 minutes, mostly about skirting boards.
A mate of mine is a photographer and was at one of those media day jobbies. One of the other photographers kept bossing Froch about during the shoot and elbowed my mate aside. Froch kept turning towards my mate for photos and kept winking at him, which apparently caused no end of grief amongst the other snappers, especially when my mate’s daughter snagged a photo with Froch.
I think people forget sportsmen are human beings, a couple of years ago I was on the piss with a few lads including Michael Dunlop the motorbike racer and every fornicator is asking him about bikes, he just wanted to get drunk, play pool and talk about tits not waffle on about his job.
I imagine they see it as part of the job, I've no interest in talking to Nick Cave about anything other than how fornicating amazing i think his music his and how much I want to lick his face, if he doesn't like it that's his problem.

Not if he's out on the piss with his mates it's not. Imagine if random strangers kept walking up to you and started asking you about your job...

If Statham can go straight into Lock, Stock with no acting training, I'm sure Carl can have a go.

He did have the advantage of being an old school mate of Guy Ritchie's, which is not something most people have.

There you go on Wiki, must be true
While working as a model for French Connection, he was introduced to fledgling British director Guy Ritchie

I saw an article that he was in Erasure's video too.
Obviously lead singer Andy Bell's knob was covered in silver paint afterwards.

Did he have some sort of operation done on his chin, it looks truly humungous in that video!

If you get a chance look up Stratham in the Shamen video coming on strong, dancing in his pants. Makes the Erasure one look masculine. I tried to upload it but my phone refused to help.

Can you imagine waking up in the morning knowing that you've got to put a pair of pants on, oil up and dance like that? I'd bunk off work, just wouldn't go in.

Did you manage to get 900 words out of the DIY talk?
What kind of people were around Froch, did you get the impression he was being well advised about dealing with the media?
He was well advised, I just got the impression that he wasn’t too fussed about covering all bases. I can understand that. On the other hand he wanted become a household and Ricky Hatton did that by making time for everyone.
I did Tyson Fury for BM last month (quick plug there) and he said interviews and talking to fans is part of the job, he just objects to people approaching him if he is with his family or having a meal.

He's a moody fornicator though, Terry. He was in Doncaster before Christmas and a couple of young lads (fans) spotted him (on his own) and have him the thumbs up etc and filmed him on their phones, he wasn't having any of it and was miserable. He would have made their days if he'd have put himself out enough to play along for a minute.

Yeah, you cannot have it both ways. If you want that crossover appeal you have to play the game. Ricky Hatton once had a media day (TV, print and ‘net) and a load of Georgies turned up after it hoping to watch him train. He had done his session but stayed on for a bit to chat with them and to sign autographs etc. This was during the build-up to Mayweather so he didn’t really have to play the game. Lots of fighters don’t see the correlation.

Yeah, but to be fair, in the end, all of it got him where he wanted to go, I think I'd suffer the embarrassment if I went on to become a multi millionaire action star at the end of it all. Models have to do all sorts of weird gigs.

You're probably right, James but knowing my luck the dancing gig would be my career highlight.

I imagine it's difficult to end up with a gig like that if you're not game for it. I've been working fifteen years and have yet to have to turn up, oil up and dance like that, and I'd probably enjoy it.

Also hate how anybody with a bit of success in one famous field wants to jump into being a movie star, just because it's the most glamorous, world class acting takes world class talent, Cara Delevigne can't act her own age but because of her connections she's getting cast in everything, while there are thousands of actually talented actors and actresses out there who work their arses off every day in shitty jobs scraping a living til the next small gig comes along before they get that big break so very few of them ever get.
There's a reason they gave Dave Batista a role in Bond that literally had ONE word in his script
How did acting turn out for David Haye?
I've been told the best actors don't work in films/TV anyway and that anyone can act in a film because you don't need to memorise your lines apart from the scene you are just about to film and if you fornicate it up the director just goes "cut" and you do it again whereas if you act on stage you have to know your lines off by heart and if you fornicate it up you ruin the show.
