Then usually Mollo drops his work rate considerably and i thought Zimnoch's distance punching would've won it. I expected Zimnoch to land his good counter uppercut on an easy to time and squared up Mollo.

It's a bad loss for Zimnoch but showed his weaknesses to the mass.

It's a very good win for Mollo as he will get more paydays in Poland vs other heavies and might get more paydays worldwide too. I don't think it hurts Mollo since he is a beatable fighter... If you can jab and move... punch from distance and have durability, you can beat Mollo. I know lots of heavyweight prospects that could get that scalp pretty easily
Another great analysis. Mollo always makes it a scrap. I really thought he would drop Zimnoch early, but the win surprised me. Now that he's "Polish champ", any chance he get's Adamek next if (when) Goral beats Molina?

I actually blocked him already. What did you think of Mollo in this fight? Do you think this hurts his stock as an opponent?

Sure does - but it also raises his stock as a contender! MM has reinvented himself. Like I said before, I can see this new bigger and stronger MM beating one of the pseudo heavyweight champs, even at this late date after 16 years boxing, like Wilder for instance.
He'd push Wilder harder earlier than he's ever been pushed, but I just can't see him winning that fight. I'd love to see him get a shot though. He's a tough guy, had some bloody fights and deserves a good payday at the end of his career.

He's a nice guy too. A friend of the Marciano family by the way. Between 2010 and 2016 he only fought twice. Don't know why. I can see him rushing in and KO'g Wilder just like he did the Polish feller - who I'm told beat Wilder in the amateurs.

Whole Poland already knew this guy wouldn't be a serious top contender, he's quite old already and doesn't have the top contender body.

I'm not surprised he's friend with the Rock's family. He's just a real throwback to the blue collar fighter that gets in and grinds away. He's no world beater, but boxing is such an unforgiving sport and I love to see guys like him rewarded. Vinny Maddalone was another of that mold.

That does not matter to these guys on here. An American won and it is one of the greatest victories of 2016!! No of all time!!@

None of that is true.

Here is Zimnoch KO'ing Deontay Wilder in 2007:

That's allmost a decade ago? I saw Zimnoch as the Charles Martin of Poland.

Zimnoch beat Wilder 23-20 in the 2007 World Championships (I believe it was Wilder's first international fight). He's looked mediocre as a pro though and I'm not too surprised he got upset.

The guy who knocked out Wilder is Evgenyi Romanov, who never turned pro.

I think you picked that up from one of the comments under the video. The video itself has no info. I'm unclear on this. Here it says Zimnoch beat Wilder in the first round:

"Undefeated Zimnoch getting ready for underground boxing

By Przemek Garczarczyk

Krzysztof Zimnoch (16-0, 11 KOs), who arrived on the professional scene after beating Deontay Wilder in the first round of the Amateur Wold Championships in Chicago..."

Zimnoch beat Wilder 23-20 in the opening round of the 2007 World Championships, not the opening round of the bout. The clip you posted is an extract from Wilder's stoppage loss to Russian Evgeniy Romanov, which can be seen in full below (notice that the Russian flag appears several times).

The fight with Romanov took place at a USA-Russia dual and you can watch a video summary of the event by clicking on the following link (at 1:35 there is footage of Sergey Kovalev dropping an American):

Crusader - Yeah I was confusing "the opening round" with "round 1" of a fight, plus that unlabeled
video. Thanks for the info. I stand corrected.
