Something I've noticed with Khan lately is how marked up he gets. He could outbox him but have battered features.

I think it's his high cheek-bones mate. As his opponents have got better it has become more noticeable.

I think Khan will win too. I haven't read all of the comments and posts on this thread, so apologies if I'm repeating what has already been said, but I think Khan's speed will be too much for Canelo. If he nips in and out with simple 2-3 punch combos he'll bamboozle the ginger mex.

I'm putting money on it and I rarely bet on boxing.

Khan has been beaten by men slower than himself before.

Speed is overrated, timing is all you need to beat a quicker fighter.

ok, nitpick with that example, lets talk generalities then, going with your formulation either (a) every fighter with great timing has always beat every fighter he faced who was significantly quicker... cos, you know, all you need is timing, s'fvckin simple init? or (b) when there is an exception to (a) this is because the quicker fighter also has great timing/ superior boxing brain / 'ceterius paribus never actually applies and there's always an equivocation as to thy the guy with good timing somehow didn't beat the faster guy'

basically saying 'to beat speed all you need is timing' isn't much better than saying 'the boxer always beats the puncher', neither are always true, at all

i don't disagree, Khan's speed alone doesn't convince me he'll beat Ratfuck, but these 'speed always beat timing' platitudes are just that. as you indicate yourself, in any case its always more complex than merely 'speed vs timing', its actually 'speed but dodgy chin and dense as fvck gets beaten by the timing of a bloke who's much fucken bigger and a better offensive technician and has a better chin and power', so even with Khan Alvarez, it absolutely will not be anywhere near as simple as timing beating speed.

Nelson was one of my dads favourites. Always remember him bleeting on about how McGuigan was dodging him etc etc... I remember seeing old tapes of him when I was about ten years old. Hard to believe he operated at feather/SuperFeather after watching that Whitaker fight! He was a big lump!

I remember his name being mentioned as an opponent for Naz once upon a time.
