I do think sometimes the hype can help a fight, seeing two blokes get at each other at pressers can help sell a fight. Look at Hatton-Mayweather. Told all my mates Hatton had no chance...saw all the press, went to the stuff at Manchester town hall and come fight night I knew Hatton was going to win this fight and was dying to see it.

Apologies in advance for the pedantry, but didn't the gorilla comments come much later in the build-up for the Thriller in Manila? I thought Ali & Frazier were relatively friendly in the build-up to the FOTC?

I don't care what happens in the press conference and build up, so long as the fight is exciting. Never mind all the cock teasing, it's the blowjob that counts. In an ideal world, a great bit of cock teasing followed by a world class noshing off, but of the two, I'd settle for the latter all day long.

I like silver spoon Eddie but he does get ahead of himself sometimes. First there was I am sure Quigg will beat Frampton, now Fury is an easy fight for Joshua. I think he suffers from believe in your own hype syndrome at times.

Two of my favourite fighters in recent time, have been Pacquiao and Golovkin.
Two more respectful guys you will not find.

And often, they know the mess they are going make of their opponents and still tell us how much they think of the guy before hand.

That's an excellent question. I can't actually remember the last really big hype fight that lived up to it's billing. Froch Groves 1 was pretty damned good I suppose not an absolute classic, but definitely dramatic.
