Good result though and shows Kell can do it.

I had reservations that he could win under pressure, at the time.

Anyway, patience, everyone!
It is more to do with him going over old ground.

He really should be aiming higher than a Porter rematch even if Porter does get the win against Thurman.

I think he will wait for them all to fight each other then pick the right one, right time. Maybe Garcia or whoever is about when team Brook makes their move. In the meantime whoever's less marketable stateside will come over once a year or 18 months. Peterson, Bradley, etc...

I like watching Brook, and know he can do it, so I'll keep buying tickets. The lesser fights should give him some longevity.

Remaining hopeful for Spence. At least we can't moan about the quality of the IBF mandatory.

Yes it can, there are so many other decent challengers that brook could fight, his career since winning the ibf title has been pathetic for a so called champion. Porter has fought broner and Thurman is next at least he is willing to fight decent names unlike brook
Peterson wants the fight.
Hearn claims he's made huge offers for Broner and Vargas.
Given that Porter is fighting Thurman - Cotto, Bradley, Spence and Khan all don't want the fight and Garcia is hanging on for Floyd - who would you be happy with?
Spence is fighting a final eliminator for Brook's title and you can hardly accuse Cotto and Bradley of ducking anyone given their track records, just that Brook is a nobody in America and they have bigger fish to fry.

Brooks career is a joke, why would he fight Peterson, why would he fight any of the guys he's been fighting.

Peterson, Spence etc are good fighters, he'd be as well as stepping up and talking on Thurman, Garcia, Bradley etc rather than risk losing to one of those guys who bring little money or notoriety.

The way spence is going he won't have much choice soon. Although I imagine the mandatories might sudden become unpalatable, the move to 154 might follow shortly after.

Spence's team told Hearn he's not ready for the Brook fight yet and neither Cotto or Bradley want the Brook fight this summer.

Thurman's boxing Porter, Bradley wants a rest and Garcia is waiting for Floyd.

Your criticizing Brooks career and then saying he shouldn't box Peterson or Spence because they're too risky!

His next fight is a final eliminator for Brook, just because Hearn says things doesn't mean they're true.

Cotto and Bradley aren't interested in fighting Brook because they have absolutely no reason to travel and Brook is a nobody in the US, Cotto hasn't even fought at welterweight for 6+ years.

You have it all worked out dont you! You might not be wrong but the only thing you can really be sure about is Thurman and Porter are unavailable right now, if Hearn brings a genuine worod title and a lucrative financial offer to the table who are you to say Bradley or Garcia would knock it back?

I like Brook, he seems genuine, even when he's throwing out a challenge to Golovkin, but year after year he continues to fight C- class opponents. His only real challenge was Porter, and he barely beat him. Enough excuses, he needs to be fighting proven world class oponents, and not unproven contenders and fringe world class oponents.

In fairness I would rather listen to what Brook's promoter has to say than a random guy on the internet. :TU:

I agree with you, but you contradict yourself by saying he shouldn't fight Spence or Peterson - they are not C- fighters.

Why not Garcia? Easy to sell him over here as undefeated pucher who smashed Khan in 4.

find that hard to believe, as they were calling out Thurman and coming from Hearn, well ?

Al Haymon supposed to have a few quid. So why hasn't he made Hearn an offer if Spence wants the fight?

I never said they were, Peterson is fringe world class, Spence could potentially be the real deal. The point i'm making is why fight these guys, they are both very good fighters yet bring nothing in name or notoriety and will do little to nothing for his standing in the sport or his legacy, so why go in against either, hed be as well as getting it on with a proven world class oponent, the risk is not that much different and the rewards far greater.

They'd both give a significant boost to his standing and his legacy.

Brook's record is appalling. Fighting any world class fighters is good for him and will help him get bigger fights in the future.

Fair enough, i'm not going to argue it to death. Yes, either of the two are a big improvement over all but one of his oponents to date, its just a terrible shame he's champion 2 years and these 2 are the best we can hope for, a proven loser at world level and an undefeated, relatively unproven prospect, its pathetic.

Its alright blaming the promoter, but that can only last so long. Brook is becoming an effing joke, if he is not already!

Must be hard for Edward....there's nobody rushing to come over and fight Brook I think they will have to pack the suitcases for the big fights...... unless Khan decided to like Brook and give him the fight

Hearn should start being nice to Khan and sucking up to him every chance he gets and so should Brook.

What's with these Ingle fighters talking themselves out of the biggest fights?

ElJefe wrote:The Peterson fight would be classic Hearn. He'll name a few genuinely world class fighters as a possible opponent (Thurman, Garcia, Bradley), then next time he'll drop in the name of someone just below that level (Peterson, Berto). Each time he gets asked the question, the weaker opponent will creep nearer the top of the list. Subtle little trick he does to plant the seed that the eventual opponent is actually at the level of the big names that he mentions to begin with.

Can't see that fight ever happening.
I wonder if Khan is in love with the game enough to get back down to welter.

Brook will still be champ when all these guys, Porter, Thurman, Vargas and Garcia, Bradley, Peterson and Spence, are gone.

Think the true test will be Crawford provided he unifies 140 then moves up to welter someday.

Yeah I have a nasty feeling we'll see a poor performance against someone on petersons level, complaints about the weight, move up, then its a couple of fights to 'adjust to the weight', then 'we're really chasing big fights but in the meantime here's...' (umm, is raul marquez still fighting? I think datsue would have appreciated that one)

Is that because Brook will be something like 86-0 and still fighting in his 50's with his promoter (allegedly's grandson) saying we've got a big fight lined up in the summer?

From 9 mins on, Hearn says big money offered to Garcia, Vargas, Bradley and Broner then explains that Spence and Garcia's team don't want it.
