The problem (and I’m responding to some probable throw-away remark, IF there even was one) is that, most people I would assume, would think you don’t represent one country at an Olympics and then change vests as it suits! Might as well have turned around in 2004 Final and said, right, cheers UK but tonight Matthew I’m boxing for Pakistan........or maybe Usain Bolt could run for Jamaica on Tuesday in the 100 then compete for Germany on Sunday in the 200. It leaves a sour taste frankly as it cheapens the whole idea of an Olympics.

By the way....Khan is on a massive media/ business/ personal tour of Pakistan - I only know as I liked his page two weeks ago and it’s showing several pics a day.......I’m assuming that every reporter that gets near him is going for some “popular story” and I’m sure his Pakistani-ness is a big topic....I’m happy for Pakistan and his thousands of fans there to get a piece of the excitement, the lad is dual-heritage after all.

He was a British world champion. The exception doesn’t prove the rule imo.....and Lennox only boxed in the Olympics for one country as far as I know.

This is good outside the box thinking win the Olympic gold for Pakistan.

He has a passion to see boxing succeed there but I don't think it will be the golden goose his people think it will unless he wishes to get involved in dirty money grants......and khan isn't that kind of person. Hes from a very good family.

I think Amir genuinely wants boxing to spread in that country plus he enjoys the limelight

Why are you getting your knickers in a twist about it. The guy has already represented Britain and won a medal for them. As far as I am aware, Khan's family settled here, worked and paid taxes, their son then boxed for Britain and won a silver medal. How is Britain 'helping them out' given that they've contributed to the exchequer, or do you have some evidence of tax dodging or other nefarious activity? You think Khan, a british-born man of Pakistani heritage, doesn't give a toss about the country he was born in, grew up in, and represented at the Olympics? I think you're filled with hatred. You clearly struggle with many things, amongst them the idea of having dual identity, or even multiple identities. Being British doesn't mean you can't also have an affinity for another country where your parents are from.

Nice sweeping statements about immigrants there, you know them all intimately do you? It's baffling to me why you'd think that people who've spent the majority of their adult lives living in a country, wouldn't give a damn about the place, kind of counterintuitive wouldn't you say?

The reason this country is in such a bad way is nothing to do with immigrants, it's to do with the fact we have an economic system which supports the wealthy and redistributes money from the less well off to the better off.

When the banking crisis hit, the taxpayer had to bail them out, and we are now being penalised further with austerity, which is just a thinly veiled attempt to further enrich the rich. The divide between rich and poor is at it's highest level since Victorian times. Tax breaks for the rich, benefits being ripped away from the weak, the infirm and disabled, zero hours contracts for the benefit of employers, erosion of trade unions, everything geared towards enriching the haves at the expense of the have nots. Immigrants are just one more cog in the machine, and they'll be fed into it like everyone else, working for peanuts.

You might like to do some reading before you spout such gibberish. My own family were immigrants in the 1950's, and had to put up with this kind of wooly-thinking bollox.. People like you like to blame immigrants for their woes, because it's easier than self-reflection and self education about what's really going on out there. The world is a scary place, get over it.

I don't think novice pros would achieve the objective for the Amateur body, what would be the point for them ? they want big names to draw in sponsors and crowds, it is all about money, they want to govern pros as well as Amateurs, the world series has shown their ambitions, plus the scoring changes to suit a more pro style, removal of head guards, they want to run it all.

I'm glad if that's the case that we are taking a stand against it. Could mean some of our lads taking a pasting mind you.

Ultimately I think having the AIBA run the whole of boxing would be a good thing, but I'm not concerned about that, I just don't see how you can have seasoned elite level professionals in with rank amateurs. Imagine the likes of GGG in with some 17 year old amateur prospect.
