100 % PPV it shouldn't be but Vargas will be getting an absolute mint to come over.

Spot on. Mayweather has commented that none of the top guys will fight Brook.
Erroll Spence was willing to fight him now.
Spence might say that, but his team keep telling Hearn differently. If Spence did want the fight, how come Al Haymon has not made an offer to Brook?

Why would they? Spence is nearly in a mandatory position.

Brook has to gun for Spence?? I like it.

Suddenly the Vargas fight isn't good enough, but many were already whining about the apparently inevitable Brook v Peterson when it appeared Vargas was going to price himself out a few weeks ago.

World title unification, only 20 miles away from me. I'm chuffed. Really hoping this brings the best out of Kell, having a big fight at home. Will be really happy with a stylish and decisive display.

The Vargas fight was never that great. This is a guy that lost every round to Bradley and bar hurting Tim in the 12th round, nobody would have payed attention to him. He then wins a vacant title against some chinny unbeaten prospect and he's some elite welterweight. I could probably name 5 plus welterweights that would beat him.

Mandatory position means short-end of the purse. His team keeps telling Hearn they don't want the fight. Bradley doesn't want the fight yet. Haymon controls the other top welters (including Spence). He hasn't made Brook one offer for any of his fighters.

So when Spence gets himself into a mandatory position, do you think Brook will fulfill his mandatory or do you think he'll drop the IBF belt and keep the WBO strap if he beats Vargas OR move up to 155?

That will be interesting to see. I think winning the WBO gives Brook the opportunity to drop the IBF if another daft mandatory gets dropped in his lap, but Spence would be a fight that will likely be accepted by some fans. Needless to say we'd rather Garcia or the Porter v Thurman winner, or Khan.

The next mandatory will be either Spence or Bundu I think. They're in talks to fight for that mandatory spot. Personally I couldn't care about Garcia or Khan. Garcia is too small for Brook I think and he'd get out boxed imo and Khan ie pretty washed up at this stage and would have gotten chinned by Brook anyway I think.

Of itself this is more like the kind of big fight we've been wanting to see Brook involved in even though Vargas is by no means elite. When factoring in his routine victories over a gaggle of overmatched opponents during the last 2 years it's not quite a big enough test to answer the questions that remain about how ambitious he really is.

Given his age, experience and record this has to be the start of a Froch like run of big fights vs the best names out there otherwise his career will peter out dogged by questions of what might have been.

It's all up to Camp Eddie! Parsons will tell you, he'll box anyone. Don't take my word for it.

It's an okay match in my opinion. Vargas is short of the division's elite, but I don't see many better fights for Brook that could've realistically been made for a similar date.

If Hearn and Top Rank have established a relationship maybe a Bradley fight can happen soon.

You're ignoring the fact that none of the top welters will fight Brook and criticising Brook for it. Spence could have boxed Brook now. Whether his team will want him to fight Brook within the next 9 months is unknown, but you're still trying to criticise Brook for it.
Brook has already beaten Porter, but Haymon also controls Thurman, Garcia, Spence,Khan and previously Floyd. Given the huge amounts of money that Haymon has invested and that Floyd has claimed the other fighters are swerving Brook, why do you think that Haymon has not offered Brook a fight?
I'm expecting Brook to beat Vargas and perhaps fight Bradley as the others seem reluctant to face Brook.

Yeah, sure.

Brook's not to blame for his horrendous career at all.

It's everyone else.

Brook's career has been disappointing, he's got time though. After this he should move to the states for a couple of years

It's a good fight against a guy with a tiny profile, but probably the only guy they could get to come over here.
