Brook said this morning on Sky that it was more a less agreed but Hearn had a few things to iron out with the football club.

As already pointed out - it is a Champion vs Champion situation. And as we have seen with the likes of Charles Martin - it costs a fair few quid to get yanks to go to England.

If I were Brook, I would accept taking the lesser share of the money in order to get home advantage.

This is a fight that I would expect Kell to be win convincingly. And upon his victory, he would be the holder of half the world titles.

And that could open doors to Khan or Thurman megafights.

There was hardly anyone at his last fight, tickets were going for £5! And Vargas is no better known than Kev Bizier to the casual.

You should send Kell on here instead of the likes of yourself feeling the need to defend his honour at every turn.
I rarely post anymore pal. I'm sure when Kell wins another title the haters will keep on hating.

If Kell fights the likes of Thurman they'll be no hating.

But it will sell as Vargas is a world champion. I'm sure if it happens Eddie will be plastering all over the place.

Kell will be on everything between now and then to promote., if he can sell half of goodison on bomber fighting someone no one had heard of I'm sure he can achieve the same for brook. Stick a decent undercard on, maybe even quiggs return, one of the smiths, possibly beg groves to fight and he could be looking at a semi OK card

In the last 2 years Brook has had 4 fights - in the same time Joshua has had 11 fights.

Brook can't expect to become the peoples champion on that basis.

Joking apart, it seems that Brook has been banking on a fight with Khan for the last few years - this aint gonna happen, he needs to get himself sorted and get active on both sides of the pond if he wants to achieve his potential of both status and money.

I disagree. Boomer had a great back story and is a real Everton fan, not a badge of convenience. Groves isn't boxing for a while and Quigg won't add many to the crowd. The Arena is more than big enough for this, Vargas isn't a big name, despite the title.

He did however have his leg almost completely severed and also suffered a badly damaged rib. The lad has lost momentum though.

Chris van Heerden and Konstantin Ponomarev better have their phones ready. Devon Alexander is also probably uninspiring enough by this point to be a Brook opponent.

But seriously, if this falls through I hope we can still see Brook fight an interesting opponent next.

Vargas' purse v Brook is 3 times what he got for Bradley but Hearn needs to deliver.

So Brook won't sign the fight because he wants more money. He's besting short-sighted and what's worse, greedy.

It sounds like the date and venue are being shifted. Where have you got your info from?

I've slated Hearn loads on here for his handling of Brook for years but I feel this isn't his fault he delivered for Brook with this one.

Seems like Hearn is now trying to insinuate that Vargas is bottling it.

Someone like Sammy Vasquez would have actually been a fun fight.

Don't shoot the messenger but why should Vargas earn significantly more than Brook - and I man SIGNIFICANTLY.

I don't think Brook should earn less. Maybe against a bigger name, not Vargas.

What when Vargas is also a champion fighting away from home?
