He also probably figured Leonard would fade badly and he would be able to stop him, again, he was wrong, Leonard had enough left to avoid Hagler during the last 3 rounds.

a tactical fighter, he tried to box
a boxer. for sure he did not "fight
to the death".
of course he was not afraid of ray.
but he did many things wrong,
beginning with coming out as an
orthodox fighter.

My point was that Hagler was scared of nobody, and in a fight on the street, he'd have gone at it until you buried him. He stood toe to toe with Mugabi, who was younger, possibly physically stronger, and a hellacious puncher. Perhaps you should read the question the thread puts.
Getting outboxed by Ray Leonard is relevant how?

apart from obvious candidates like foreman, Tyson, liston........Nigel benn was a mean spirited dude, how can u compare GGG to his meanness?
Iran Barkley was intimidating.
Tommy hearns could end it in a heartbeat.
even a FW like hamed liked to torture lessor fighters in the ring.
With some its not just the immediate HW power, some are capable of prolonging the beating.
