Not one who had spunked over £15 million, back in the days when that was still a fair bit of money!

I Said it when it was announced , I said it half way through negotiations , IT WAS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN ...Eubank knows the name of the ganme is publicity ,, look what he has got jnr through publicity , already a crack at Saunders , a fight against the best in the world for millions , which i don't believe he wanted or intended to go through with .

Jnr will front up and fight GGG in a couple of years when GGG is older and on the downward spiral , It was always a bollocks fight never going to happen ,, Chris is a nutter ,, he's dillusional ,, he's a ego tripper , BUT he knows boxing , he knows these promoters don't give a shit about his son and will cast jnr out has soon has he can't make them money . His intention is for Chris to earn plenty , and that he will do ,, for all his ranting Hearn has not said i can't work with snr , i'll rip his contract up , No its we walked on the fight and gave it my backup , but he has not offered to rip up jnrs contract , so Jnr is still obliged to Hearn ,and whats more Hearn is obliged to get jnr a couple more fights ,, so lets say theres 2 more fights experience and half a million quid extra , and still the possibility of a GGG fight next year ,, because lets have it right after he destroys Brook , even less will fight him .

Alls senior has to do is agree terms in the future sign the contract and then present it to GGG and they will forgive him . Is Seiour at fault course he is , he made ridiculous demands , which he knew he was never going to get , has an excuse for getting out of a fight he never ever wanted .

Hearn on the other haned , well he got sick of it and walked away , but has he stated , they did'nt need the money , but he was never going to let this BIGGEST FIGHT on Uk soil ever walk away , if he could help it ,, so he butters up Brook and gives him the big fight he wanted ,, Hearn can sugar coat it all he wants , he's threw Brook TO THE WOLFS FOR HIS OWN EGO , he wants this fight badly , more than the boxers do , so then he can have it on his resume he brought the world number one p4p to Britains shores ,, Is it a bad thing , well its buisness , Its his job its what he does ,, But it also shows theres no freinds in buisness.

Hearns can say Brook is up for it , Brook jumped at it , but facts are he manipulated it , and does'nt care about Brook, only the dollars and his own ego , Its alright to say Brook loses and he's still champ ,, he expects a loss , but what if its a Blackwell type loss , He's stated he losses money or breaks even on Brooks fights , well let him go elswhere release him from his contract , No Hearns matches him with a big puncher 2 divisions higher ,, Its all about Hearn

Now does Chris deserve to be blamed course he does , he had no intention all along ,, But Chris is only playing the game , Hearns , well he played a blinder has well , he manipulated Brook to take the fight , can't pay him much for the Vargas fight ,, but can give him the same has Eubanks to challenge GGG.. So in other words , dispite only being a domestic level boxer ,, Jnr was already on more money than Brooks the world champ

Blame Senoir all you want , but who's being managed better ,, a domestic level boxer getting millions , or a world champ who's opponents are getting a lot more to challenge him

True but it would still been a lot of money, a LOT of money, hearn said so himself in the Kugan recording so while I get he is looking after his sons welfare but the 'cabbage' comment aside there surely can't be many other major paydays like this one in the near future.

AND he has already has his bubble burst once and that hasn't stopped him advancing in the ranks....

Back to the cabbage comment...that can happen in any fight at any time

I dunno, I do see where you are coming from a bit but he has missed out on a massive payday there and it was his old mans demands that caused it

Hearn says a lot of things. He obviously has a bit of an axe to grind here now too.

Does anyone know how much it was? Or how much Brook is set to earn?

Neither Brook or Jr are megastars in their own right. GGG is the reason this one sells.

fair point, and I'm just guessing here, but surely a PPV blockbuster at the O2, including ticket sales will be a very good payday no? Will it be more than he has ever earned before?....absolutely yes and he didn't shy away from them fights did he?!! if not god help everyone else trying to earn good money in this sport (I know its a small percentage of boxers that earn good money anyway but you know what I mean)

When you think about it, it is a massive payday he has missed out on and surely anyone can see his Dad's demands have caused it? Brook has jumped at the chance....why didn't Eubank? I just don't get it?

Unless I've completely missed something which I am prone to do :TU:

I think the point is ,, Jnr was not and is not ready for GGG , he's still in a learning curve , but his Dad has got everyone in the boxing world talking about him and he's ONLY domestic level .. The pressure is now going to be on BJS and Jacobs to fight GGG after he beats Brook ,, so it will then be Jacobs ,, bjs , and Canelo all refusing to fight him ,, In the meantime the next 18 months , providing he keeps winning , which Seniour will make sure with handpicked opponents he does , Well jnr will pick up 12-18 months of sparring , a couple of 250 grand fights , and GGG will of got older ,, the fight will then still be there , worth just has much money and jnr will cash in .

For all those that are saying Snr is a plonker who does'nt know what he's doing ,, think about it , jnr a domestic fighter had lined up a crack at the biggest name in boxing for millions ,, wheras Brook the world champ can't get a fight unless he defends his title for less than the challenger .

Who has the best manager ,,, and this by the way is not from a Chris Eubank nuthugger , i think the guys a plonker ,, but a clever plonker when it comes to boxing ,, he knows the game

true but you never know what happens in life, what if he picks up a freak injury to one of his hands or whatever and can't box again...anything can happen in life

I would have taken it for (if what we are lead to be believe) life changing money....you just don't know whether these opportunities will come again.

That's my view anyway but hey ho, what do I know, I'm sure Senior has his head screwed on as you say

Can see your point , but heh we all get morgages , some of us start up buisnesses and risk money , but we know if we get run over crossing the road were stuffed , but we still do it.

The only thing that crossed my mind is insurance , you would think matchroom or other promoters would have the events covered with insurance , and if they were to refuse to insure based on Eubank having a history of pull outs , hard to deal with ect , that could cause problems ,,, but i don't know i'm just wondering out loud .

The only ones making big money here will be Sky, Eddie and Golovkin. He's the draw here as Mickey already pointed out.

I can't believe that Brook has been watching GGG fight and sitting there rubbing his hands going "I can take him, Eddie get me the fight". What's happened is that Eubank wanted "too much" money and pulled out at too late a stage in the negotiations to actually do something about it so they have offered the fight to him.

He gets panned on here on almost a daily basis for his career, level of opposition and IBF mandatories and is probably more frustrated than most with how his career has gone since winning the title. Couple that with that fact he's had well documented weight issues and he's probably weighed it up (no pun intended) and thought well I earn more in one fight than I have the last 3 against a guy nobody expects me to beat and if I lose I've a ready made excuse of "he was too big". He's also not a biggest middleweight out there in terms of draining, making 160 and so on.

This is not someone with 10 losses picking up an unexpected payday that not one person has a chance of winning so he goes back to being a storeman on £250 a week and shrugs his shoulders. Or someone taking the fight on ten days notice and thinking "I'll give it a go".

Eubank may or may not be world class but at the moment he's largely untested and unproven at any sort of "world" level, there's a lot of posturing and talk from them about how good he may be but that doesn't necessarily mean that he will be and it doesn't necessarily mean he's ready for someone of GGG's level.

I don't really see the problem with them turning the fight down, or more specifically the money offered.

I'm sure when Brook gets hammered people will go "Oh I thought he would" and kinda shrug it off and say well at least he got well paid.

tl;dr - Brook loses, nobody really cares. Eubank loses and it could end his career or derail it before it's really got anywhere.

I rate Snr's expertise on boxing contract matters about as highly as his expertise on marriage, loyalty, financial management and dress sense.

His record is'nt too bad up till now ,, he has managed to get Jnr to the british title , a shot at the world title , secure him and obviuosly lose him a shot at the number 1 p4p fighter in the world today , and have all the boxing world talking about jnr ,, Its all going to be followed by a few easy fights , making probably another half a million pound ,, and you can bet a big fight down the track with GGG or Canelo simply based on the fact most want to see jnr lose and snr have egg on his face .

Seems to me like he's done ok :TU:

I asked a friend of mine (ex boxer, amature) about it all, he said he agreed with Snr, that the TV comps and promoters make far too much money, he felt EBS was just trying to do what was right for his son.

What, by trying to insist on which commentators Sky used for the fight? For trying to nearly double ticket prices? Nah, I don't think so. Eubank Sr was just trying to play at being a promoter, the same way he tried to play at being a trainer in the BJS fight. Both gambles have failed badly and left his son in a much worse position.

Well, as an ex boxer he's likely to think that. It's hardly an unbiased view. Promoters take risks with their money, it doesn't always pay off. Not every show is a big money spinner and promoters invest a lot into the early stages of fighters careers.

Eubank Sr knows how promoters work, manking ridiculous demands isn't going to get him anywhere, nor his son. His son is nowhere near a big enough star to be calling the shots to anyone.

Eubank-Blackwell, Jeter, Chudinov were all poorly attended, as were Broook-Dan and Brook-Bizier was pathetic. Much like Kahn-Barrera, almost full in comparison to Khan-Kotelnik(5-6,000), this is all about boxing fans wanting to see a real class act, GGG. If Senior thins his son is the main attraction, he's absolutely crazy.
