You'd hope that would be considered some sort of crime, or grounds for dismissal.ILikeBeer wrote:The sad thing is, it's very believable.jamesmcdonnell wrote:

It took them long enough to kick off about phone hacking. What do you think is going to happen to a news paper that leaves a bottle of plonk in somebody's front porch? Very little.jamesmcdonnell wrote:

Speaking of things that might have happened in an ideal world, would Ricky have beaten Floyd without the disgraceful refereeing of Cortez ?
Had he done so there might never have been any depression problems in his life

No, he might have posed more problems, but I see nothing in Hatton's game to suggest that Floyd wouldn't have prevailed. I think he'd have had an uncomfortable few rounds, but he'd have figured it out.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Speaking of things that might have happened in an ideal world, would Ricky have beaten Floyd without the disgraceful refereeing of Cortez ?

I'm surprised Cortez wasn't giving Floyd handjobs between rounds, it was the most fawning display of refereeing I've ever seen, truly pathetic. He allowed Mayweather away with murder, and penalised Hatton for trying to work.

Come on fellas, let’s keep it sensible. Paul Gascoigne has enough friends (and people he doesn’t even know would do him a good turn) ..if people up and down on Boxrec know about this vodka on the doorstep practice then don’t tell me they don’t know it in Geordie-land or Brighton or wherever this alleged nonsense is supposed to take place. Any “journalist” (which would actually be a less accurate term than “parasite”) that did that would get quite badly assaulted, imho. Not to mention they’d be breaking the law.

Sorry....hadn’t read this far. The idea of criminality has been touched on. Well I think you can go in someone’s garden without it becoming “trespass”....just as you can harrass someone half to death, legally. I think court papers have to be served and the victim must be made to suffer for around 24 months before things happen in England.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I was speaking about in an ideal world, not expecting that this would actually be a crime in the world we currently live in.ILikeBeer wrote:It took them long enough to kick off about phone hacking. I saw the comments about Sheryl (think that’s the lass’s name..). Seemed like a lovely woman on the docu that I saw a few years ago. Level headed, kind. You just don’t know though. Nor do we know what he was like as a partner himself. So I would completely hold back from making any judgement there.
I nearly wrote this the other day, but stopped. I just never got what Gascoigne had to be depressed about. A fit wife, a good body, a few quid in the bank. He should really be some bronzed and healthy looking multi—millionaire that goes around as a guest of honour, raising money and profile for his chosen cares, enjoying his hobbies and popping up on TV to give his two cents’ on the game. I just don’t see what the problem was......short attention span? Easily bored? Low self-esteem? I guess tgat’s why it’s (depression) is called a disease of the mind...
Mike Tyson once said...let me try to get this right....he had a massive ego and cripplingly low self-esteem at the same time. Is that possible, or does it just sound good? I don’t know

Re: Hattons online meltdown
I had a bout of depression lasting almost 3 months which started in December last year, and lasted until about the middle of march when it began to subside, I was probably back to normal by the end of April. During that period I was like a zombie, I could barely make it into work, and when I did virtually nothing, I would go home, eat, if I could bring myself to, then sleep on the sofa, and if I was lucky sleep when I went to bed. I literally had no desire to do anything, and in truth if I had died in my sleep, I really wouldn't have cared. The only thing which probably saved me was that I've been through this before, several times, and it always passed, and that's what I kept telling myself, even when I felt suicidal, and hated myself with a passion, that I couldn't muster for anything positive. The only respite I got was when I got drunk, but that was very short lived, and the next day I would hate myself even more. It seemed like it would last forever.
My life is no better, nor any worse than it was then on the outside now, however, I feel entirely different. If you met me, you would not believe for a moment that I was capable of being that person, or feeling that way, that is the nature of depression.

So he said he had nothing left, absolutely nothing? Sounds like it was a re-up he was after.
Re: Hattons online meltdown
There was quite a public twitter drama with Gazza last year. He was going out with some bird, a long time mate of his, for a few months. Turned out she was 'bought' by the reporters to get stories. Gazza found out and had a twitter meltdown.
I heard Gazza actually does quite well out of this. These 2 Scum reporters camp outside his house, they make some shite up, he sues, gets paid, usually 6 figures, and the cycle starts again. Everyone's a winner it seems.
If i was Ricky I would just be single, bang a couple of high-class whores every week with the interest.

And to say he deserves x y z, I wouldn’t say that personally because I don’t know what the man is like behind closed doors. Actually, he’s probably the same as he is on camera. But I’ve never had any dealings with him.
To look at his larger than life behaviour you would think he would be the type to bounce back from being dumped with an equally good looking bird on his arm a month later, but rejection can be a bit of a b*stard.

Agree completely CaptainSpaceRod. Frankly I don’t think Paul Gascoigne ever was shown how to a) act seriously or b) behave with emotional intelligence.CaptainSpacerod wrote:A bit judge mental that.tedley wrote:Yes it does when it concerns twats like *gazza*jamesmcdonnell wrote:

He’s then gone from working-class (I assume) roots, to become the superstar of superstars right almost at the very start of the superstar horse-sh*t era. Not that easy.
Another thing about this guy is I think I remember seeing a docu that something had got him fired up before the ’91 Cup Final. He’d already committed a couple of misdemeanours before he launched in and committed GBH on that Forest player. I don’t know why he did that.
