Let's see if Jacobs still wants to fight Triple G.
+1 and good call by the corner.jezzamundo wrote:Brook should go to 154lb now, though I'm sure he would beat a lot of middleweights.
Nonsense.TempleSlave wrote:BS BS BS BS BS....
That looked soo fixed... GGG was told not to hurt the local boy, to make it look competitive, for the first few rounds. Then was allowed to unleash. Brook doesn't even look too disappointed.
jezzamundo wrote:I thought the stoppage was a little early, but I'd rather it that way than too late. Good to see a corner who truly cares for their fighter. Apparently Brook was ahead on the scorecards.
Evander wrote:Looked to me like GGG was going to knock out Brook from the 3rd, he landed way too many solid body shots and bounced Brooks head back clean on many occasions.
Brave of Kell to take the chance but the result seemed inevitable from the very early rounds.
Of course not - I didn't know about the broken eye socket, his corner probably did. That probably influenced how early the towel came in.Ian1973 wrote:jezzamundo wrote:I thought the stoppage was a little early, but I'd rather it that way than too late. Brook didn't throw a punch for about 40 seconds, do you want him dead? Stoppage was bang on.

Thats cause most of them are scared of himFreedom wrote:Disgaceful day for boxing, how many more of these mistmatches must we endure. At least Kell Brooks fights top fighters in his division, same cannot be said about Glolovkin.
Good post !greg wrote:...just as expected, Brook was good for a couple of first rounds...was out of his depth as soon as Golovkin stepped up, lost focus, got hurt..the corner saved him from falling apart in the next round...good decision...
What ? Wow `you know absolutely nothing about boxing.Freedom wrote:Disgaceful day for boxing, how many more of these mistmatches must we endure. At least Kell Brooks fights top fighters in his division, same cannot be said about Glolovkin.
Brook's only ever fought one top fighter other than GGG, and it was Shawn Porter. GGG has fought many more top contenders than Brook has.hoagylt wrote:What ? I think going back to 147lb would be a bad move for Brook - 154lb is where he belongs now - he looked sick making 147lb before, it would be worse now he's put on muscle to fight at middleweight.BROZO wrote:I like the stoppage. I want brook to have all his skills and now face Crawford, Thurman, Garcia, maybe even a rematch with Porter or Putting Pac-man out to pasture. so many posibilites at Welter.
Promotional crap like the lineal mw 'champ' giving up his belt? Martinez fighting Cotto instead and Cotto fighting Canelo?Freedom wrote:Nonsense, that’s promotional crap.
I saw something earlier with Golovkin around 167 and Brook 168jezzamundo wrote:I think going back to 147lb would be a bad move for Brook - 154lb is where he belongs now - he looked sick making 147lb before, it would be worse now he's put on muscle to fight at middleweight.BROZO wrote:I like the stoppage. Did HBO do fight night weights? I imagine they would have been very similar, although GGG looked the bigger man in the ring.
That was the morning of the fight - GGG 167.8, Brook 168.p4p1 wrote:I saw something earlier with Golovkin around 167 and Brook 168jezzamundo wrote:I think going back to 147lb would be a bad move for Brook - 154lb is where he belongs now - he looked sick making 147lb before, it would be worse now he's put on muscle to fight at middleweight.BROZO wrote:I like the stoppage.
