This is why I think the fight will be closer then what people are saying. Ruiz could take this in 12.

Ruiz has lost more than 20 kg whilst training with Sanchez at altitude in California.

He is expecting to weight in at about 111 kg. Having previously fought at more than 140 kg.

Hope team Parker have a plan to nullify the speed and power this young hungry Ruiz is going to bring to this fight.
Ruiz for the upset.

I'm certainly not discounting the possibility of a Ruiz upset.

Andy Ruiz planned to arrive in New Zealand yesterday, but has put it off until only 5 days before the fight. The revised date will allow his trainer Abel Sanchez, who has taken all the weight off Ruiz, to travel with him. Perhaps Sanchez is worried what damage a week without him could do to Ruiz' waistline?

Joseph Parker returned to NZ on Friday morning from his Las Vegas training camp.

Any other recent pics of Ruiz? He looks much slimmer in the above photo (he could even pass as not being fat), although there was also a pic of him with Parker at US fight card about a month ago, and he looked more like his normal, ample self.

I'm sure we will see more in the lead-up to the fight. The scales won't lie. That's where the truth will be found.

There is no rematch clause included in the Parker vs Ruiz contract :

"In modern boxing rematch clauses are like an insurance policy meaning you can cover and hedge against losses both financially and opportunity," said David Higgins of Duco.

"There is no rematch clause here. That makes it more exciting in that it's all on the line and the loser has no guarantee of anything and the winner will have total licence to proceed as they wish."

The WBO has ordered the winner will square off against David Haye early next year. But Haye has since agreed to fight Tony Bellew on March 4th.

WBO like WBC, WBA, IBF & rest of circus still live in bygone years when they could order anything & everything, but these days Promoters & Combatants are ultimate deciders. :-P

Top Rank have indicated they would like to work with Joseph Parker whether he wins or not against Andy Ruiz on December 10th.

Duco say they see Top Rank's interest in Parker as more an opportunity than a threat.

"We have a history of being able to take fighters from one level to the next to their ultimate peak. We would be honoured to somehow, someway be involved with Joseph Parker, Duco and Kevin Barry," Top Rank's leading matchmaker Bruce Trampling said.

Fox will televise it live. That has been confirmed by Ben Damon from Main Event.

Should Parker get past Ruiz, it is unlikely he will be fighting David Haye next, as the WBO had mapped out when they sanctioned Parker vs Ruiz. More likely his first mandatory defence will be against Hughie Fury, cousin of Tyson.

Duco's other heavyweight, Izu Ugonoh, is about to sign with a rival promoter and now unlikely to fight on the Parker vs Ruiz undercard.

The above confirms that I don't know what day it is, but the bout is on the SATURDAY night not Friday.

Fox Sports 1 is actually showing some Australian bouts live on the Friday night from 8:30pm AEDT.

Why do the spruikers for Brokelads et al keep saying Parker would be first NZ World Heavyweight Champion?

That title belongs to Ruby Bob Fitzsimmons, regardless of what the Brits claim and he was undisputed champion.

Fitzsimmons, the youngest of 12 children, was born in Helston, Cornwall. His father was James Fitzsimmons, an Irishman born in County Armagh and his British mother was Jane Strongman, born in St Clement, Cornwall.

Bob emigrated to New Zealand at the age of nine along with his parents, brothers and sisters. So what is Bob: a Pom, a Kiwi or an Aussie as he first fought professionally in Australia.

Joseph Parker was born in South Auckland on January 9, 1992, so no dispute here about his country of origin.
